Explore the Mayan ruins at San Gervasio and toast the adventure with an enlightening tequila tasting. Although the ruins are comparatively small, they are significant as the site was once a pilgrimage destination. Worshippers came from all over the Yucatan peninsula to honor Ixchel, the Maya goddess of the moon, love and fertility. Excavations that began in the 1800s have unearthed several archaeologically important structures, including a square vaulted tomb, a large sanctuary known as the Upper House and a temple with red handprints on some of the interior walls. Centuries-old white stone roads and paths connect many of the buildings. The guide will describe the Mayan culture that thrived at San Gervasio until about 1600, when smallpox from the Spanish conquistadors devastated the population. To complement the experience, you will have the opportunity to sample three varieties of premium tequila infused with tropical flavors.

Watch an authentic Lucha Libre wrestling show and toast the spectacularly flamboyant performances with margaritas and a traditional Mexican lunch. As an introduction to this wildly popular style of professional wrestling, you will watch a short video that describes its origins in Mexico and how it has developed over the past century. Lucha Libre means “free fight,” although there are some rules to keep the fast-moving nonstop action from getting out of hand. Most luchadores wear colorful masks – even in public when not wrestling – that conjure up images of ancient Aztec warriors and spiritual figures. A wrestler that removes an opponent’s mask in the ring is instantly disqualified. You will have plenty to discuss over lunch, after which you will be free to browse the wrestling venue.

Discover Cozumel’s spectacular underwater world aboard the state-of-the-art Atlantis XII submarine — the only passenger submarine experience in Mexico. Your adventure begins with a scenic coastal cruise aboard our vessel Ana, transporting you to the submarine where you’ll descend nearly 100 feet beneath the surface into the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Explore the breathtaking Chankanaab Reef, part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System — one of the largest living reef systems on Earth. Along the way, you may encounter tropical fish, lobsters, rays, turtles, and occasionally sharks, depending on the season. You’ll also experience the dramatic beauty of Cozumel’s famous Wall, a stunning underwater drop-off that plunges more than 2,000 feet deep along the island’s coastline. The journey continues to the Felipe Xicoténcatl wreck, the largest dive wreck in the area. This 154-foot former Mexican Navy vessel was intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef and help preserve this protected marine ecosystem for future generations. Today, it serves as a thriving habitat for colorful marine life, sponges, and soft corals. Throughout the excursion, the experienced crew provides fascinating narration about the reef system, marine species, and the unique underwater environment surrounding Cozumel. The Atlantis XII submarine is battery-powered to help minimize environmental impact. Its air-conditioned passenger cabin remains at normal atmospheric pressure, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the dive.
