    OVERVIEW

Fly high over the surrounding fjords, glaciers and villages in a helicopter for a bird's-eye view of the area’s extraordinary natural beauty. Once you take a seat inside the helicopter and its rotors start turning, the thrills will begin in earnest. Although the exact route will depend on the weather conditions, the helicopter is scheduled to begin by flying over Åkerneset, a mountain that suffered a landslide in 1934, causing a devastating tsunami in the waters of Sunnylsfjord. You will then loop south over the villages of Hellesylt and Stryn and on towards the Loen Skylift, one of the world’s steepest cable cars. Flying over the stunning Loen and Olden valley, known for their breathtaking beauty and uniquely turquoise glacier waters – a signature feature of the region.Other highlights include Ramnefjellet, another mountain known for landslides, and Lodalskåpa, a jagged peak that juts out of the Jostedalsbreen glacier. Experience the unforgettable feeling of hovering above the majestic Jostedalsbreen glacier and its famous Briksdal glacier arms – a truly spectacular sight from above. The flight will take you over the quintessential fjord landscape, whose star attractions may well be Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its dramatic natural beauty and majestic glaciers, best appreciated from the helicopter.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Fly over stunningly beautiful steep-walled fjords and ancient glaciers.

    OVERVIEW

Cruise through Geirangerfjord on a small private boat and be awed by the natural beauty as you fish for Norwegian Atlantic cod and other species. You will board the MS Bølgen right at the dock in Geiranger and soon be out on the fjord, which UNESCO named a World Heritage site for its outstanding natural beauty. Being one of the world’s longest and deepest fjords, there is plenty to admire, including its steep-sided rock walls and the waterfalls that tumble off them. It won’t be long until you reach an area where great numbers of fish are typically caught. The bait and tackle will be provided, as well as tips on how best to land a big fish. These cold waters are teeming with cod, pollock and haddock, which are known to put up quite a fight. To complete this authentic fjord experience, guests will finalize the tour by enjoying freshly made fish cakes ashore in Geiranger — the perfect way to wrap up the adventure. The fish cake is quick, tasty, and a beloved local snack made according to long Norwegian traditions. This is the kind of flavor that takes Norwegians back to their childhood. Now it’s your turn to try a local favorite – enjoy!

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Cruise pristine Geirangerfjord on a private boat that holds just a dozen passengers.
    • Admire the natural beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site fjord.
