Stroll through the atmospheric streets of the Old Quarter on the way to a nightclub, where you will watch a mesmerizing flamenco performance that tells a passionate story.

After walking from the pier, you will continue at a leisurely pace toward the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Quarter, which the Phoenicians founded in the 12th century. Being the oldest continuously occupied city in Western Europe, Cadiz exudes history, as you will soon discover in the Plaza of San Juan de Dios, a square that originated in medieval times.

As you meander the labyrinthine streets of the Old Quarter, you will pass one architectural treasure after another. Highlights may include the Neoclassical-style Cadiz Cathedral, which boasts a tile dome that appears Moorish, and the collection of elegant 19th-century palaces along Calle Ancha, a wide boulevard that is considered the heart of the city.

In time, you will arrive at Taberna Flamenco La Cava, a nightclub that showcases the art of flamenco. Before taking your seat, be sure to notice the photos on the wall of some of the most acclaimed flamenco performers in the past 50 years.

UNESCO honored flamenco by recognizing it on its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Andalusia, especially Cadiz, is the heartland of flamenco, an electrifying art form that fuses expressive songs, passionate dancing and emotional music. To enhance your immersion into the local culture, you will be served traditional tapas that may include Serrano ham and Manchego cheese.

Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses an impressive 56,800 acres of prime wilderness in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Showcasing one of the continent's finest game-viewing experiences, Phinda features Africa's wildlife at its best. Often described as the "Seven Worlds of Wonder," with its seven distinct habitats, Phinda is home to an abundance of wildlife from the largest lion to the smallest antelope. This fully inclusive program promises to be an unforgettable experience.

    DAY 1

Depart Richards Bay harbor and drive approximately 2.5 hours to the Phinda Private Game Reserve.

Upon arriving at the Phinda Mountain Lodge, you will enjoy a welcome drink while checking in to the hotel. Afterwards, you will have time to settle into your accommodations before lunch and then departing on an afternoon game drive. The suites at Mountain Lodge each have their own private veranda, outdoor shower and plunge pool allowing you to savor the outdoors and fresh mountain air.

Late afternoon is one of the prime times to view wildlife, as it’s cooler and the animals are more active. While there is no telling what you will observe, the reserve is home to countless animals, including the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, rhinoceros and Cape buffalo. Herds of elephants are often seen meandering through the fever tree forests, while white rhinoceroses are usually found grazing on the grassland.

the game drive, sundowners and light snacks will be served at a clearing in the bush, where you might see nocturnal wildlife. In time, you will return to the lodge for dinner and to spend the evening.

    DAY 2
The day begins with an early-morning wakeup call, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits in the lounge. This too is an ideal time for wildlife viewing. As before, you will head into the bush in an open-topped 4x4 vehicle, accompanied by knowledgeable rangers and trackers who are skilled at pointing out the various animals.

You may catch sight of a shy red duiker grazing on fallen leaves and fruit. The elegant nyala antelope is seen even more frequently, as Phinda boasts one of the highest densities of the species. The male nyala has a dark brown coat, yellow legs and shaggy mane, making it particularly spectacular. The female nyala features a less flashy, but no less beautiful chestnut coat. Of course, the Big Five always command attention and they are abundant.

Following your game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by leisure time throughout the day to perhaps take a nap or maybe relax around the rim flow pool that follows the natural curves of the mountain, providing impressive views of the Lebombo foothills. Enjoy an in-room massage treatment or participate in one of the optional activities provided by the lodge. Optional activities may include bush walks, cultural excursions, scuba safaris and specialist safaris such as birding, photographic, tracking, luxury walking safaris (additional expenses may apply and space must be reserved at the lodge)

Lunch and afternoon tea are included before meeting for your evening game drive.

Following the game drive, sundowners and light snacks will be served at a clearing in the bush, where you might see nocturnal wildlife. In time, you will return to the Phinda Mountain Lodge for dinner and to spend the evening.

    Expected Weather:
South Africa’s seasons are the reverse of those in the northern hemisphere. Midwinter is in June and midsummer in December and January. The climate varies from region to region but is generally mild throughout the year.

Expected weather in February: Guests should expect rain at some point during the day.
The average temperature will remain around 31°C/88°F high and a low of 20°C/68°F.

    What to Bring:

Sunhat, sunblock, camera and warm layers as the mornings and evenings may be cooler. Binoculars are also recommended. Bring a swimsuit as well.

ZAR (USD not accepted at the lodge – credit cards are accepted)

    Electricity:
South Africa’s electrical system is 220/230 volts A/C 50 cycles. Most hotels and lodges have hair dryers and plug adaptors in the bedrooms. If you bring electric equipment, take along an international converter kit complete with a set of adapter plugs. Outlets in South Africa require a three-pronged adapter plug with 3 round prongs. Adapters should be brought from home as not all will be provided. Be aware, however, that overnight recharging may not be possible where generator use restricts the availability of electricity.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:
A valid passport is required. Please consult the embassy to obtain the latest visa regulations for your country of origin.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. • The contents and order of activities in this program are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice, due to the prevailing weather conditions and movement of dangerous wildlife on the reserve.
    • While this is a safari area, the animals are wild and so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
    • During early morning game drives in open vehicles it can be a little cool. We recommend that guests take along a windbreaker.
    • During the day, it can get extremely hot. The game drive vehicles are not covered – and guests are therefore exposed to the elements. Guests are advised not to forget their sunhats, sunblock and sunglasses, as well as their cameras and binoculars.

Stroll through the alleyways and streets in Sorrento’s romantic old quarter, stopping every so often to admire the attractions and savor some local treats.

After departing from the tender pier, you will soon reach an elevator that will take you up to Villa Comunale, the largest park in Sorrento. Although lush and leafy, the clifftop park is known more for its spectacular views of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius than its natural beauty.

Continuing on, you will walk through the old quarter of Sorrento, a wonderfully atmospheric section of town. The guide will point out some of the most historical landmarks while offering insight into the founding of Sorrento.

The old quarter is full of restaurants and shops selling handmade gelato, an icy treat synonymous with Italy. You will pause for a refreshing cup of gelato, a dessert usually flavored with seasonal ingredients such as hazelnuts and Sorrento lemons, a highly fragrant extraordinary juicy variety.

As you walk down narrow Via San Cesareo, you will see artisan workshops and all sorts of alleyways lined with one-of-a-kind shops. The ambiance couldn’t be more inviting as you join the local residents browsing for merchandise such as fine leather goods, embroidered clothes and lemon products. Be sure to notice the statue of Torquato Tasso in the square named after Italy’s most revered Renaissance poet, who was born in Sorrento.

Following a coffee break in a traditional café, you will enjoy free time to explore further before walking back to the pier.

Explore two of the world's most historical cities as you step back in time with visits to Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Your tour begins with a beautiful scenic drive from Haifa into the Judean Hills. As you ascend into these hauntingly stark hills, your coach will be traveling along the same route used for centuries to reach Jerusalem. The capital of Israel, Jerusalem is famous for its timeless beauty and was once considered the center of the world. As you navigate your way through this amazing city, you will pass some of Israel's most notable landmarks, such as the Hebrew University, home to 2005 Nobel Prize winner Professor Emeritus Robert J. Aumann, the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book, the Knesset (Israel's Parliament) and the State Supreme High Court. After an interesting overview of the city, you'll proceed toward the Mount of Olives where time will be allowed to take photos from this highly favorable vantage point that provides an unparalleled and breathtaking panorama of the walled Old City. Near the base of the Mount, you will find the picturesque Gardens of Gethsemane, site of an ancient olive oil press yard that is surrounded by 1,000-year-old trees. Here you can also see the impressive Church of All Nations.

Following an unforgettable morning, you will be treated to a relaxing lunch at a local hotel before it's time to continue your exploration of this fascinating destination with a walking tour of the historical Old City. Entering via the Jaffa Gate, your walk will take you past some of the most sacred sites in religious history. As you make your way along a route that flanks the colorful bazaar, you'll observe the Christian Quarter, which rests beside a part of the famous Via Dolorosa, believed by many to be the route Jesus followed as he carried his cross to Calvary. Amongst the sites you will view is the golden-topped Dome of the Rock. With its stunning blue and gold ceramic tiles, this amazing shrine is considered the third holiest site in Islam. You will also view the famous Western (Wailing) Wall, the holiest site in the Jewish world because it is believed to have been closest to where the Holy Ark once stood. A visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is also included. Perched on the hill known as Golgotha, the Church marks the site of Jesus' crucifixion, burial and resurrection.

Rejoining your coach, you'll leave the city behind and make your way through the Judean Hills to the edge of the desert, where the legendary town of Bethlehem is found. Your time here includes a visit to Manger Square and the renowned Church of the Nativity. This extraordinary church is built over a grotto that is believed to be the location of Jesus' birth. Due to time constraints and very long lines to enter the actual grotto, doing so is usually not a possibility. After what will no doubt be a highly memorable visit, you'll re-board your coach and enjoy a leisurely drive back to the ship.
