    Koala Conservation Centre Bushwalk

    OVERVIEW

    This is a great opportunity to see the nature and wildlife of Phillip Island as you enjoy a leisurely hike to see Koalas up-close, at the Koala Conservation Centre. Experience the beautiful nature of Rhyll Inlet and the Oswin Roberts Reserve on a leisurely hike before reaching the Koala Conservation Centre to see these beautiful creatures up close. Rhyll Inlet is a well-known habitat for migratory waders and a good spot for bird watching. Follow the mangrove boardwalk past some beautiful lookouts to Oswin Roberts Reserve. The reserve is the last remaining bushland on Phillip Island and allows for wildlife watching. If you are lucky you might spot some of the many wallabies in the area. At the end of your hike you will have time to visit the Koala Conservation Centre where you can stroll through eucalyptus woodland and come face-to-face with koalas in their natural habitat. The center has unique treetop boardwalks to allow guests to get close to the treetops and the koalas.

    Note: Guests should be physically fit to walk for up to 2-hours (the track is over 4-miles long), and several steps. Walking is on boardwalks and granite gravel paths.     Seal Watching Cruise

    OVERVIEW

    Get close to Australia’s largest fur seal colony during this eco-cruise that glides within feet of thousands of seals frolicking in the water and sunning themselves on the rocks. Perched on the southwestern side of the island is the jaw-dropping area known as Summerland Peninsula, a magnificent headland that marks the end of Phillip Island’s western-most point and the beginning of the sea’s never-ending blue horizon. One of the area’s most endearing residents is the Australian fur seal, unlike other fur seals, the Australian is noted for its small ears, large eyes and sharp teeth. An agile swimmer with a streamlined shape and strong flippers, it can dive to depths of 650 feet. Your adventure begins as you board the vessel at the pier and head out into the crystalline waters of Bass Strait, which separates Tasmania from the Australian mainland. Feel the ocean breeze surround you as your captain cruises by the picturesque coastline. Along the way, your friendly captain and crew will share their knowledge of the history and ecology of the colony. Be sure to have your camera with you on this wonderful scenic adventure as this is truly a nature and photographers dream tour. If you’re lucky, pods of dolphins will cruise alongside the boat.

    Learn of the history of Phillip Island, visit notable places and stop for wonderful pictures along the way. Phillip Island was settled 150 years ago and celebrated the anniversary in 2018. Start your day with a drive through the main town of Cowes and a coastal drive. Stop for pictures at the Nobbies, offering spectacular ocean views before continuing around the coastal road to the world famous Grand Prix Circuit. Step back in time as you view the track & visit the History of Motorsport. Learn about the track and the first Australian Grand Prix. You will also see the superb collection of winning motorcycles on display. Stop for pictures at the fishing village of San Remo, the gateway to Phillip Island, located just over the bridge on the mainland. If you are lucky you might be in time for the Pelican feeding. Drive to historic Churchill Island for more photo opportunities and then on to A Maze’N Things, an award- winning theme park and a magical world of illusions that will surely AMaze you. Just across the street is the Koala Conservation Centre, where you will stop to view these unique animals native to Australia, in bush settings, before returning to the pier..

    French Island 4WD Adventure

    Discover the amazing wildlife, history and unspoiled natural beauty of French Island. Twice the size of Phillip Island, it is two thirds National Park, off the grid, has no man-made roads and is home to one of the largest koala populations in Australia. An approximately 20-minute ferry crossing takes you to French Island. Only 49 miles from Melbourne, this little-known destination is a nature lovers’ dream. Your experienced guide will share knowledge of the natural environment and fascinating island history and lifestyle. Travel the island in an off-road vehicle for about 2-hours through forests, farmlands and historic sites. You will have time for photo stops and, if lucky, some wildlife spotting including koalas, echidnas and birds of prey. Weather permitting, you will stop at the beach to enjoy the vies and light refreshments before taking the ferry back to Phillip Island.
