This one and a half hour city tour with your local guide will take you along the waterfront and through the heritage district of Charlottetown. Learn the story of Charlottetown's origins and its growth into a prosperous community during the Victorian era. Experience the heritage and see some of the beautiful homes left behind and public buildings of wood, sandstone and brick. You’ll learn about the famous Conference of 1864, which gave the city its designation as the Birthplace of Canada.
The tour concludes with a guided walk up Great George Street, a charming national historic district where you’ll walk in the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation and learn first-hand about the Confederation. Your walk will take you by Saint Dunstan's Basilica, concluding at Province House, both being National Historic Sites of Canada. Then enjoy free time on your own for shopping and exploring this historic seaside town before returning to your ship (a short walk).
