Does th studio bathroom have a hairdryer

Asked by: Shelaird
Each stateroom includes a hairdryer. It usually is hardwired to the wall at the dressing table, so it cannot be unplugged and moved to another location in the room.

Is the balcony on room 8162 obstructed view?

Asked by: Anonymous
It looks like your room is directly above a life boat, so you won't be able to look straight down to the sea, but otherwise there is no restriction on the view from your balcony.

I have cruise booked in Feb. What can I expect? Less capacity. No buffet. No shows. Etc etc.

Asked by: EdFlorida43
Based on the information which NCL has released so far, it is likely that the ships may be sailing at less than full capacity at that time. The buffet no longer will be self-serve, with staff serving all portions. It is possible that the buffet may be converted into a restaurant with fixed meals, but that seems unlikely. You should still be able to choose individual items. They just will be served to you instead of you serving yourself. The other restaurants may have some seating removed to spread the tables farther apart. There will still be shows, but some of the theater seats may be removed or blocked to promote social distancing. It is likely that face masks will be required at times and that frequent hand washing will be encouraged.

On the Epic what categoryr of cabins get the Conceirge service? Haven only or Mini-suites as well?

Asked by: MDS68
Only Haven staterooms come with concierge service. Mini-Suite cabins are essentially just larger Balcony rooms, without any of the additional amenities of a Suite or the Haven.

Check out time?

The ship arrives back to original port at 8:00 AM. My flight is not until 3:00 PM. How long can you stay on the ship?
Asked by: Wentzel
Passengers are required to exit the ship within about two hours after arrival in port so the crew can make the ship ready for the passengers on the following cruise to board. You should plan to be off the ship by 10:00 AM.

Any advice on how to avoid long lines on the ship for activities?

Asked by: N8theGr8
You can avoid lines at shows and dinner by making reservations. Other than that, the best suggestion I can offer is to observe when others tend to line up for activities that interest you, then plan to take part in those things at off-hour times. Unfortunately, on a ship this large, you usually will encounter long lines for popular events at prime times.

Embarkation Day

We are to check in between 2-3 on embarkation day, however the ship doesn't leave until 9pm. Once we are checked in can we leave the ship again?
Asked by: Kcfaye
Yes, you can, but in most cases it is not recommended. You will need to be on board for the mandatory safety muster drill, which usually takes place in the afternoon shortly before sailing. That would leave you with only a couple of hours either before or after the drill, which probably is not enough time to get from the port to the city and back and still leave you an appreciable amount of time to tour the city.

Is there a sitting area in an inside room on the Epic?

A couch
Asked by: Mmmmmmnnnnnnnn
Unfortunately, no. There is no sofa in an Inside stateroom. You can click on the "Staterooms" link above to view a floor plan and sample photos of Inside rooms. The rooms are small, with little extra floor space. In addition to the bed, there are small bedside tables plus a dressing table with a chair or stool.

What is the earliest you can board the ship on the first day?

We arrive in Miami before noon and the ship does not leave port until 4:00 PM. I see where you must be at the port terminal 1 hour before departure, but can you board earlier?
Asked by: Wentzel
The check-in process usually begins about 11:00 or 11:30 AM, with boarding beginning about noon. If you check your cruise documents (eDocs) you should see an arrival time which NCL has assigned to you. It is not a mandatory time, but rather a suggestion meant to spread out the arrival times of all the guests to keep the waiting times to a minimum. Depending upon when you arrive for check-in, it is possible that you may be on board by noon or soon after. Several of the restaurants on board will be open for lunch on embarkation day. The latest time that you can arrive at the cruise terminal and reasonably expect to get through the check-in process in time to board would be one hour prior to departure. NCL recommends that all guests be at the pier not later than two hours before departure in case there are delays.

Are there volleyball nets anywhere on board?

Are there volleyball nets anywhere on board? Do people play volleyball in the pool?
Asked by: JZubes
There is a sports court on Deck 17, aft. It usually is set up for basketball, but you can contact a member of the Cruise Director's staff once you are on board to see if you can reserve a time for volleyball. There are no water volleyball nets in any of the pools, and I have never seen passengers hitting a volleyball while in a pool.

Does the Epic have a laundromat available to customers?

Asked by: JBUTTS
None of NCL's ships include a laundry facility which is accessible to passengers. Laundry service is available on board, however, at prices comparable to what you might expect to pay at a land-based hotel. The ship also will offer a laundry special near the middle of your cruise when you can have one full bag of clothing laundered for a single low price.

We are in 13041 on the Epic. Is the balcony blocked and will we feel a lot of movement on the ship while in this room? TIA

Asked by: Kcfaye
The view from this balcony is not obstructed. You may notice the movement of the ship, as your room is quite high above the water and somewhat forward of the middle of the ship. Unless you are overly sensitive to motion sickness, however, it should not be a problem.

Do any of the Studio rooms have windows? If yes, on which decks?

Asked by: Gustaca
None of the Studio staterooms are located along the hull of the ship, so none have windows facing the sea. Some of the Studios on NCL ships do feature virtual windows. These are actually video monitors which give you a view of the world outside the ship. There may be some Studios which include a window facing an interior hallway.

Using the haven key card in the elevators

Do you keep the key card in the slot when you push your deck or just put it in and out and then push the deck #?
Asked by: 1955beachlover
The only passengers who need to use their key card on the elevators are those traveling in the Haven. Access to the Haven area on Decks 16 & 17 is limited to passengers who are booked in a Haven room, so they need to insert their key card in a slot on an elevator and leave it in place when pressing the button for Deck 16 or 17.
