4 of us will be in room 5168. There is one bed, so where do the other 2 sleep? Will the sound of the water be very noisy?

Asked by: miarelle
Each stateroom has two full sized beds that can be pushed together to make a queen sized bed. Depending on the type of room and the room configuration, the third and fourth guests will either sleep on 2 bunk beds attached to the wall or sofa bed or a combination of bunk bed and roll away beds or a sofa bed. Your stateroom steward will open the beds in the evening and close them up in the morning.

Where is the dining podium on the Escape?

Asked by: Njgirljo
Not sure what you mean by dining podium. If you are looking for the complimentary restaurants, it is located on deck 6 & 7. Check the deck plans for it. The complimentary restaurants don't require reservation. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. The specialty restaurants do require reservation and you can make it using the app,the restaurant reservation line on the ship or at the restaurant reservation desk located next to guest services.

When selecting the Take All Free offer, is the Specialty Dining and Bar Packages for all guests?

Trying to figure out if beneficial to have 3 people in a room or split up into 2 rooms.
Asked by: Cmorell
Unfortunately, only the first two guests in a room receive the benefits of the Free at Sea offer. With three people cruising together, you may want to consider the Studio staterooms for one or perhaps all three members of your traveling party.

How can you can bid for a spa suite upgrade?

Asked by: Macsabke
When a number of staterooms remain unsold as the date for a cruise approaches, NCL will notify a select group of passengers who already have booked a less expensive cabin and offer them an opportunity to upgrade. The notification will specify which type of cabins are up for bid and a range of acceptable bid prices for each category, You can place a bid on any or all of the cabin types up for bid. You will need to register a credit card to submit your bid. NCL usually will wait until about 48 hours before sailing to allocate the staterooms. You may modify or withdraw your bid at any time up until NCL begins the allocation process. You will have no way of knowing how many other passengers have placed a bid on a room category on which you have bid, nor how aggressively they may have bid. It is a "blind bid" process. Once a bid is accepted, however, your card will be charged immediately and your stateroom assignment will be changed. You will not be able to select your new cabin number. It will be assigned by NCL. Once NCL has accepted your bid for one of the staterooms, any other bid you have offered for another cabin type on that cruise will be cancelled. That way there is no chance of being double-billed. Not all passengers on a given cruise may receive offers to bid on an upgrade. The procedures which NCL uses for selecting which passengers receive offers and which bids are accepted are proprietary and the terms are not announced or published.

The promenade deck walking track ?

Do dining/bar tables run all the way around the promenade deck, It looks as though there is only room for single file ?.
Asked by: 2much2see
The Waterfront on Deck 8 has tables and chairs for outdoor dining at several of the restaurants, as well as lounge chairs near several of the bars. These take up far less than half the total length of the Waterfront, however. In other areas, the width of the Waterfront varies from about five feet at the most narrow parts to about 15 feet wide. You can click on the "Deck Plans" link above to see the layout of the Waterfront on Deck 8.

Dress Code for dinner and dress code for Buffet meals

Asked by: tradbuff
Dress cruise casual anytime during the day, in the buffet and in most specialty restaurants. For women, it includes summer and casual dresses, skirts, regular or capri pants, shorts, jeans and tops. Khakis, jeans, shorts and casual shirts are fine for men. Swimwear is acceptable at the buffet and outdoor restaurant, but a shirt or a cover-up and footwear are required. NCL wants you to be comfortable, but tank tops for men, flip flops, baseball caps, visors and jeans that are overly faded, with holes or tears and worn below the hips are not permitted in main dining rooms or specialty restaurants. Dress smart casual in the more formal dining room or more upscale specialty restaurants. For women, it includes slacks or jeans, dresses, skirts and tops. For men, it's jeans or slacks with a collared shirt and closed-toed shoes. Kids 12 and under are welcome to wear nice shorts in all restaurants.

How much am I charged when I step on the boat

Asked by: Towney76
Prior to boarding the ship you already will have paid your cruise fare, port fees, and taxes. These amounts will be shown on your cruise contract which is part of the eDocs you can download from the NCL website. Each day you are on board the ship each passenger in your stateroom will be assessed a mandatory gratuity which is intended for service personnel such as your cabin attendant, waiters, etc. The amount of the gratuity is dependent on the category of your room and also is shown on your eDocs. No other charges are mandatory, but if you choose to take a shore excursion, access the internet, use the spa, dine in a specialty restaurant, or drink alcohol, soda, or some other beverage which is not complimentary, the cost of those items will be added to your on board account and will be billed to your bank card at the end of the cruise. Since each of these amounts will vary depending upon the specifics of your cruise contract, you will need to check your eDocs to determine the total. You can contact your travel agent or the NCL Reservations Department for further assistance in determining the total cost of your cruise.

2 out of 4 Guests have Specialty Dining A-La-Carte

if only 2 out of 4 of us have Specialty Dining, how would they charge us in an a-la-carte specialty restaurant?
Asked by: deeeewww
If the third and fourth passengers join you for dinner in a specialty restaurant, the bill for the first two guests would indicate "no charge" but provide a spot for you to offer an additional tip. The other guests' bill would include an itemized list of charges for the dishes they ordered together a mandatory gratuity. Any charges would be billed to the on-board account that was set up for the room, to be settled by bank card at the end of the cruise. It is possible to set up more than one account per room if you want to keep certain charges separate for specific passengers.

Asked by: BOSENG
Best options is to join the Cruise Critic Rollcall and find a Facebook Page for your specific cruise. Then post that you are travelling with teens and their ages, ask if others are as well. For our Alaska cruise we are holding an informal meet and greet for passengers at the local Red Robin. Gives those of us with older teens a chance to get to meet each other prior to boarding.

During the 7-day Bermuda Cruise, what time-frame are we allowed off of the ship during the 3 days at port?

I'm wondering what time each morning we are allowed off of the ship into the port and what time each day we have to be back to the ship. This is for the 7 day Norwegian Escape out of New York staying in port in Bermuda for three days, October 6-13. Thank you!
Asked by: CruisingCait
Your ship is scheduled to arrive in Bermuda on Wednesday 9 October at 8:00 AM and depart on Friday 11 October at 3:00 PM. It usually takes the local port authorities about 30 minutes to clear the ship prior to passengers going ashore, so you can begin your exploration of Bermuda about 8:30 AM on the day you arrive. The "back on board" time usually is 30 minutes before the announced sailing time, so you would need to return to the ship not later than 2:30 PM on departure day. Between those two times there are no restrictions on your comings and goings. You may get on and off the ship as often as you like, at any time you choose, day or night, during the three days that the ship is in port at Bermuda.

NCL does have wine dispensing machines, but I don't remember if there is one located in The Cellars Wine Bar on Deck 8 or if it is somewhere else on the ship. I do recall that it is not included in the beverage package. You will be charged for any wine you receive from a wine dispensing machine.

Room 13870 looks like it is a little bigger?

Deck plan picture of 13870 looks like bigger room inside with the angered balcony. Does this room have more floor space and how does balcony look being on an angel?
Asked by: Lhummell53
The staterooms are all about the same size but some rooms may be slightly larger or smaller just because of the location of the room on the deck. The balcony would be slightly larger due to the angle but don't expect it to make a big difference.

What shows and activities need to be booked in advance? When are you able to start booking those reservations?

Asked by: Mama34
The shows in the main theater may be reserved online or by calling the NCL Reservations Department beginning at least 75 days in advance of your cruise. Shows in some of the other venues also may be reserved, but such things as the comedy shows may not be reserved until you are on board. Reservations are not required for any show, but are recommended since many of the best seats fill up early. If you go to an entertainment venue without a reservation you will be directed to the standby line. About 10 or 15 minutes before showtime guests in the standby line will be allowed into the theater.

I'm traveling with Norwegian Escape? My friend and I have a balcony room. Will you separate lower beds?

Asked by: anonny
NCL usually will arrange the beds according to the names on the reservation, with a queen sized bed for a couple or two twin sized beds for two friends traveling together. You can request that the beds be set up the way you want by contacting the NCL Reservations Department by phone at the number shown on this website. You should call them at least a month prior to your cruise to be sure the beds are set to your request. If you find that they are not correct once you are on board, though, just mention it to your stateroom attendant and he or she will rearrange them for you.

Haven Penthouse

Is the Haven Courtyard Penthouse worth the money? Also, I have heard sailing AFT can be loud because of being in the back of the ship, is this true??
Asked by: divadepuy
Of our 24 cruises with NCL, we have traveled twice in the Haven. Each time it was on a cruise that included a large number of days at sea. On cruises with lots of ports of call, it seems like you're either off the ship, at dinner, enjoying the entertainment in the theater or a lounge, or asleep in your room. You really don't spend many waking hours on board the ship with time on your hands. When there are lots of sea days, though, having access to the Haven lounge and dining room are a welcome luxury. If you select one of the Haven Spa Suites you also have full access to the Mandara Spa, a great way to spend your days at sea. So the answer is, it depends. We have never sailed in an aft stateroom, but we visited friends on board who did. We also frequently have dined in one of the restaurants located in the rear of the ship and have noticed the noise and vibration there, especially when the ship is maneuvering in or out of port. The large balconies and panoramic views afforded by an aft stateroom are tempting, but we have no plans to travel there.
