If you arrive early, can I go inside the ship?

If you arrive early and finish the check-in, are we allowed to get inside the ship and check in our room before the departure time? How long does it take to finish the check-in process? I chose the slot 2 hours prior to our departure time. Do we have enough time?
Asked by: Nahoko
no matter when you arrive, you cant get on the ship anytime prior when they actually allow people to start boarding. You need also remember that all the cabins are in the process of being cleaned from the prior sailing (just like a regular hotel). That being said, and all things being equal, you should be able to access your cabin around 2 p.m. So the best thing to do, once youre actually on the ship is find your way to the buffet or pool area (they have an ongoing bbq while people are waiting to get in their cabins, order a cold drink, relax and enjoy

I'm afraid of getting sea sick. What will work to avoid terrible sea sick on board?

Boston to Bermuda, Gem
Asked by: Nahoko
ask the cabin steward or someone from the wait staff for a slice of green apple and some ginger ale. this should calm you down. also there are wrist bands available to help relive sea sickness, ask you local pharmacist where they can be found, and there are also patches available to tape behind your ear

Is there a fee for items consumed from the minibar for Haven Guests?

We are in a 2 room, Haven Suite on the NCL Gem. As Haven Guests, is there a fee for the items that we consume from the mini bar/fridge? That is, alcohol, sodas, bottled water.
Asked by: HubbyWifeDuo
items in the mini bar are usually outrageously priced. so immediately on getting into my cabin i have the steward completely empty the fridge. its no difference than a mini bar in any land hotel. while i always cruise with them, i have discovered that ncl "dont give away ice cubes in winter"

How many meals are included in the specialty dining package for an 11 day sailing?

Asked by: corack
Under the terms & conditions for the Specialty Dining package in effect today, Sept 2019, an 11+ day sailing is entitled to 5 meals. This may vary by when you booked, but it was also 5 for our 12 day cruise booked last year.

I am gluten intolerant. Are there any accommodations or meal choices for gluten free passengers?

Asked by: Trigg
Guests with food allergies should contact the Access Desk to discuss Norwegian Cruise Line's policies and procedures concerning special diets and your specific allergies prior to your cruise. Because the vessels are supplied all over the world, it may be easier to meet your specific food allergy requirements in some countries, but very difficult in others. Special dietary requests should be submitted at least 45 days prior to sailing. Any requests inside 45 days cannot be guaranteed.
