Norwegian Getaway Mid Ship Balcony Room #10262-Mediterranean Cruise

We are a family of 4 and we are hoping room #10262 has two twins =queen, a pullman bed, and a sofa couch. Can anyone confirm the layout? If you had another room with a pullman bed, please let me know the room number. Thank you for your help!!
Asked by: kdfjsdlkajfdklsjfdklfjsdk
Room 10262 is a category BB Balcony stateroom located mid-ship on the port side of Deck 10. There are two single beds which can be pushed together to form a queen size bed. This bed is near the center of the room, and is oriented with the foot of the bed toward the front of the ship and the head of the bed toward the rear. There also is a sofa which can be made into a bed. It is located between the primary bed and the sliding glass door which leads to the balcony. Your stateroom is rated for four passengers. I have not been inside this particular room, but in most cases a four-passenger room also will feature a Pullman style bed which can be pulled down to form an upper berth above the sofa. A ladder is stored in the closet to assist in climbing into the upper berth. In some cases, however, the sofa may fold out into a double bed instead of there being a Pullman. If you need further assistance or information about the specific layout of the room, you should contact the NCL Reservations Department by phone at the number shown on this website.

WHAT DOES ROOM 12798 LOOK LIKE AND HOW CLOSE IS THE ELEVATOR

IS A COFFEE MAKER AND IRON AVAIL IN THE ROOM
Asked by: barneyj
Your Family Mini-Suite is located mid-ship starboard on Deck 12. The entrance to the forward elevator lobby is ten cabins (about 100 feet) from your stateroom. For photos and a floor plan of your room, please click on the Deck Plans link above. There is a coffee maker in your room, but not a clothes iron. You can borrow an iron for a brief period of time by contacting the Guest Services Desk or simply asking your stateroom attendant.

Asked by: BrandieH
I do not recall seeing them either of the two times we traveled in a Haven Spa Suite. You probably should bring your own.

Is there anything special I can do for my daughter's birthday while we are on the ship? like a birthday cake?

Asked by: padgett
Contact guest services before your sailing and let them know you are celebrating a birthday. On our last sailing we indicated that we were celebrating our anniversary and a card was left in our room to redeem for a complimentary cake at any of the dining rooms. You can also purchase a party package and your cabin will be decorated upon arrival: https://www.ncl.com/onboard-packages/party-packages

Bow View? Whenever I'm on a boat, I like to stand on the Bow, to look where we're going.

I don't believe I was able to do that on the Getaway. (You could only get close on Deck 17 if paid for Haven.) There didn't seem to be any general access to the actual Bow; (like outdoors on Deck 9 or 17, or indoors on Deck 15 or 16.) Why is that ? Are the other NCL ships laid out like that ?
Asked by: Cottontail
You can view the design of each of NCL's ships by clicking on the "Deck Plans" link for each ship. Some do have open decks near the front of the ship and some have forward observation lounges, but the forward-most part of the bow is a restricted area on all ships.

Are we allowed to use walkie talkies to communicate aboard ship?

My cellular provider roaming does not include cruise ships, and pay per use texting will get expensive. Trying to find a way to keep in touch with my teens, while on board.
Asked by: Nbrandt720
Two-way radios, or "walkie talkies," are allowed on board, but you may find that they are less than effective because the steel hull of the ship can create signal interference. Another option is to have everyone in your party download the Norwegian App on their cell phones. It is a convenient and effective way to communicate with family and friends while on board the ship.

Can I bring some cans of Diet Coke onboard? Not a fan of Pepsi products!

Asked by: PKing
Unfortunately, no. NCL modified its regulations several years ago to prohibit passengers from bringing canned sodas, bottled water, and just about every other kind of beverage on board with them. They do have root beer, both regular and diet. You may want to try that instead of Pepsi.

Is there a pickle ball court on The Getaway?

If not, would it be ok for me to bring a net to set up on the basketball court?
Asked by: LoriV
There is a sports court on Deck 18, but it usually is occupied by basketball players. You would need to bring your own net and other equipment and check with the sports staff on board to reserve a time to play.

Is there a charge to enter the Ice Room?

Are there coats available for use going into Ice Room? How long can you stay in there?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, there is a charge which covers the cost of your beverages, served in "glasses" made of ice. The charge applies even if you have one of the beverage packages. As I recall, the time limit is one hour, but few people stay in the cold that long.

Our cruise departs on Superbowl Sunday will the game new aired on n board

Norwegian getaway departs 2/2 /20
Asked by: Pdlrmike
Yes, you will be able to see the Super Bowl. Since your cruise is set to depart New Orleans about an hour before kickoff, the ship will be within US territorial waters on the Mississippi River until well after the game is over. The ship should have no difficulty picking up a broadcast signal in that area. The game will be shown in a number of venues on the ship, and also usually will be available on your stateroom TV. We have watched the last four Super Bowls while on NCL cruises, and plan to see the 2020 game while on board the Gem.

has anyone been on the getaway with teenagers?

Exactly how does the teen room work? Does it cost money? How do we communicate on the ship with our teenagers? Are you provided an itinerary?
Asked by: dezzidezers
yes, we've taken our grandson on a number of cruises starting when he was 10. after he turned 13,we signed him up for the entourage. the last cruise we took, he was still 17 and still eligible for the teen club (entourage). one of the 1st things i do when we board is get him signed up. he met a group of kids, and we hardly saw him the entire cruise. after about 2 hours at sea everyone on board seemed to know him. he always seems to have the best time of all of us. you 1st sign them up, i allow himto check himself both in and out. there is always a schedule of events for the teens.there is no cost to enter. by the way, they're teenagers, just tell them to check in periodically, or give them a curfew

ARE NON SURGE POWER STRIPS ALLOWED ON BOARD THE GETAWAY

Is there a promenade to walk around the whole ship?

The Pearl has one, for example.
Asked by: AlyC
The Waterfront on Deck 8 encircles almost the entire ship. At the front of the ship, you will need to go inside and cut through the forward elevator lobby to reach the opposite side of the ship to continue walking around the ship. You can view the layout of the Waterfront by clicking on the Deck Plans link above.

Does the Starbucks onboard accept Starbucks gift cards?

Asked by: PKing
I'm not sure if it accepts the actual cards but I was able to use my card through the Starbucks app on my phone. You can't redeem stars but you can earn them with your purchase. Save a screenshot of the barcode in the app to use your card, that way you won't need wifi or a data connection to use it.

Can I use Specialty Dining Package for Margaritaville?

We received the Specialty Dining Package, but I can’t get any reservations at a reasonable time. Can I book Margaritaville, once we are on ship, and use the dining package to pay?
Asked by: Nbrandt720
Once you are on board the ship you should be able to find additional availability at the other specialty restaurants. Check with the Restaurant Reservations desk next to the Guest Services desk as soon as possible for the best selection of available times. Using the dining package for Margaritaville would not be the best use of the package, as the cost of a meal there is quite a bit less than the value of the package when used in other restaurants.

does the saltroom onboard cost money and is there a time limit

Asked by: auntiefroggie
The salt room is included as part of the thermal spa. You can purchase a one-day pass to the spa, or you can book the spa for the entire length of your cruise. Access to the spa also is included at no additional charge to passengers who choose to travel in a Haven Spa Suite. There is no time limit on the use of the salt room or any other of the spa facilities, but you first must have a pass to enter the spa.

My wife is diabetic and requires insulin that requires refrigeration. On a previous cruise, an extra fridge was provided, is this the same with NCL?

Asked by: BenMac
All cabins have a mini fridge/mini bar. It has room to store whatever you need. we were able to store large water bottles and a bottle of champagne in it.. It's stocked with basic mini-bar items that you will be charged for if you use (this is not included in the drink package). You can always ask your cabin steward to empty the fridge once you get onboard.

NCL carries a wide variety of carbonated beverage, exclusively Pepsi products. There is a charge for all sodas. If you expect to drink a large number of them, you may want to consider a soda package, either to purchase or as a "Free at Sea" benefit.

Can 4 people sleep in a Balcony stateroom (11124)? Can a cot be provided?

Asked by: Destinee
Yes, stateroom 11124 is designated as a four-passenger room. There should be two Pullman-style beds which can be pulled down from the wall. There will be a ladder stored in the closet to aid in climbing into the upper berths. The principal bed in the room actually is two twin sized beds which usually are pushed together to form a queen sized bed. It will be easier to climb into the upper berths if you have the lower bed split into two twins, with each pushed against a wall under one of the Pullman beds. This will give you a room that looks like two sets of bunk beds with an aisle between them. Your stateroom attendant will make up the beds each evening then fold them away each morning.
