where is the best location on the ship to stay front, mid, or rear

Asked by: mrcub1954
The motion of the ship is lesser in the mid-section of the ship. Having said that, the ships are very stable because of its size & weight. In addition, the ships use ballasts and fin stabilizers to prevent rocking.

Is there a pickleball court?

Asked by: sewasong
The ship has a general purpose sports complex that can be used for basketball, tennis and other sports. You will need to ask the staff to put the tennis nets to play pickle ball. I suggest getting your own equipment.

Will we be able to order a non-alcoholic beer anywhere on the Jewel?

Asked by: KathiW
The ships do carry non-alcoholic beer but since they are not popular on cruise ships they may carry one or two brands. You can order the beer at any bar or restaurant on the ship.

Washer and dryers

Are there any washer and dryers on broad and if not do they have laundry service and what is the cost. TIA.
Asked by: Wycowboy
There are no self-service laundries. All ships offer laundry, dry clean & pressing services. They have laundry bags in your stateroom that you can give to the cabin stewards. Usually around the middle of the cruise they offer discounts on the services. However, I wouldn't use it for any delicate or expensive dresses.

Will I need an adapter plug for cell phone, etc. on the ship if I'm coming from America?

Asked by: CandyCane
All ships have 110 V and 220 V A/C. The connector is US prongs for 110 V and European style prongs for the 220 V. There is one outlet in your room next to the dressing table and another one in the bathroom. The outlets are limited and are not located next to your bed. You may want to take an extension cord if you want to connect some device next to your bed.

Can we disembark early?

We are booked for the Nov 1, 2019 Hawaii to Tahiti 14 day cruise and would like to disembark at Bora Bora to stay an extra night. Are there any rules or restrictions on doing this and what do I need to get any permissions to do this?
Asked by: Chelsie
I suggest calling NCL and getting a clarification on it. If you are disembarking at a port, the port will need to have customs and immigration officials to clear you for disembarking there.

We are booked for an Alaskan cruise in early June. What temperature should we expect and will it be tolerable to use the hot tubs?

Asked by: Crhall
The temperature will be in the 70s during the day and 50s at night. However, make sure you carry at least one thick jacket. The decks on the ship can get quite chilly when the ship is sailing in the Alaskan waters. Also if you have plans to visit a glacier, make sure you have warmer clothes and appropriate shoes. You can also check the weather on any weather related websites. If you check a 2-3 days before the cruise sail date, you can even get details of any rain in the ports you are visiting. You can use the hot tubs but since the decks are open it will still be cold outside the tub.

I see the ship arrives at the port at 6am. How long do we have to disembark?

I'm trying to make transfer arrangements. How long does it usually take to disembark after the ships arrives at the port?
Asked by: Mhorve
It usually takes about 30 minutes for the ship to be cleared by customs before the guests can start disembarking. The VIP guests are the first to disembark followed by guests carrying their own bags off the ship. All other guests can pick their bags at the port and go through customs. If you walk off the ship with your bags, it can take about 30 additional minutes to go through customs after the ship is cleared by customs. For other guests it can take 1-2 hours to disembark and clear customs. As far as a flight is concerned, if the ship docks at 6 AM, a safe bet would be after 10 AM for domestic flights and 12 PM for international flights.

Transport from ship to tour bus.

Does anyone if there is any type of transport from the ship to the tour bus area.? I've been watching some of the Utube blogs and I am going on the NCL Jewel to Alaska. I notice there are long walks to the tour bus lots and I have a mobilityi issue.
Asked by: Baduda
In Ketchikan and Juneau there are shuttle buses from the port to the town center where most of the tour buses depart. In Skagway, however, unless you are booked on a train ride which departs from the pier, you likely will be faced with a walk of several blocks to get into town. If you r cruise also stops at Victoria, Sitka, or Icy Strait Point, you also may have difficulty getting around.

Are all balcony stateroom (category: BC) enclosed balconies?- Norwegian Jewel

Or are the balconies (category BC) toward the front of the ship enclosed and the ones near the rear 'AFT' open?
Asked by: Review
Enclosed balcony staterooms that are located towards the front or back of the ship have balcony staterooms where the metal hull of the ship forms an enclosure for the balcony. You will still be able to sit outside in the balcony. The advantage is that you have a little more privacy in the balcony compared to a regular balcony stateroom. Take a look at a pic of the ship from outside and you will get an idea of how the enclosed balcony will look from outside. NCL refers to the enclosed balconies as PrivaSea balconies.

On the Jewel...what are the differences between a suite and the Haven suite..i only see pool and sundeck options

Asked by: mikesharon
The Haven was introduced on the Epic and has become a feature on all new ships in the fleet. Prior to the Epic, the most luxuriest room on NCL ships was a Suite. When some of the older ships have been refurbished, Haven rooms have been added, while many of the existing Suites have been retained. On each of the newer ships, the Haven area also includes an exclusive restaurant, bar, and lounge. On older ships which have been refurbished to include Haven rooms, there is no separate Haven restaurant, so the amenities of a Haven stateroom are similar to a Suite on those ships. You can view sample floor plans and room photos by clicking on the "Staterooms" link above to see the differences in the rooms.

Transport from Seward to Anchorage

We bought a 7-day Alaska from Vancouver to Seward. We will be transported by bus from Seward to Anchorage after completing the cruise?
Asked by: Bozena
Bus transfers as well as travel by train are available for booking as shore excursions. You can find schedule and pricing details at the Shore Excursion section of the NCL website. My wife and I cruised Alaska a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the amazing scenery on the train trip from Seward to Anchorage. We continued on by train to Denali National Park, then on by train to Fairbanks, the perfect conclusion to a spectacular Alaskan adventure.
