Does the jogging track go all the way around the 13 deck? Will the jogging may too much noise for the 12 deck cabins? This is onthe Star.

Asked by: Lexuspac
The answer to each of your questions is yes. Yes, the track does circle the ship, although at some times of the day you may run into some traffic with other passengers who are walking, not running. We made the mistake of booking a Suite on Deck 12 on the Star two years ago. The rhythmic pounding of joggers' footsteps on the deck above us kept us awake late at night and woke us up early every morning, so yes, jogging makes a lot of noise for passengers on Deck 12.

It has been just over a year since I was on the Star, so things may have changed since then. Full breakfast was available in Moderno, but only for passengers traveling in Suites.

Why book a sail away balcony, pay a substantial extra, if the view can be completely obstructed?

Asked by: CCccc
On a balcony it shouldn't be obstructed. The only problem with the sail away is you do not get to pick the cabin so you might end up in a less desirable location.

Asked by: noranug
As a general rule, you’re not allowed to bring drinks aboard. If there’s a medical need, you can call the accessibility desk at 1.866.584.9756. They might be able to arrange to have it on board for you or get you permission to bring your own.

Does NCL provide shuttle from the Venice Port to the train station?

My family will taking a cruise in NCL STAR IN October 7. I want to know if there’s NCL Shuttles from port to train station? Can we make advance reservation?
Asked by: Florfina
The main station, Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia, is located about a half mile from the cruise terminal building which NCL uses. There are no roads near the station, so you either can take a water taxi or a vaporetto canal boat. You also can walk across the Constitution Bridge from the station to the Piazzale Roma where you can board the People Mover to the front gate of the port. There is no public transportation within the port, so you still will have about a quarter mile from the front gate to the ship. You also could take a taxi from the Piazzale Roma to the cruise terminal. I have sailed with NCL several times to or from Venice, and they never have offered shuttle service between the ship and the train for those cruises. I don't think they offer any shuttle service now.

Is the water on the ship safe to drink or does a person have to buy bottled water

Asked by: Jpcruise
The water on the ship is purified by a reverse osmosis process, making it cleaner than most city water supplies. It is safe to drink the water in any restaurant or bar as well as from the faucet in your stateroom.

Our ship is not scheduled to leave until 6pm in Venice. Can we check in our luggage early then go explore the city?

We will be boarding the Norwegian Star in Venice. We will have to check out of the hotel at noon. Can we check-in and then leave the ship and explore the city?
Asked by: Jessroberts81
Yes, we did the same thing the last time we sailed from Venice. Be sure to check for the scheduled time for the mandatory safety drill before you leave to explore the city. It usually is held about an hour prior to departure and you will need to be back on board in time to attend.

First Evening Aboard

We are sailing on the Star out of Los Angeles on the 23rd of March. This is our very first cruise. We depart at 4pm. What can we expect on this first evening aboard? Should we make dinner reservations in adavance? Thanks
Asked by: RichP
There will be a mandatory safety drill in the afternoon, and there usually will be a production show in the theater the first evening. You can make reservations for dinner if you want, but even if you don't there will be seating available in many of the restaurants. You may encounter a bit of a wait at peak times, so a reservation is a good idea if you plan on attending the show. Show times usually are either 7:00 and 9:00 or 7:30 and 9:30 PM.

What kind of electrical outlet on Norwegian Star?

What kind of electrical outlet on Norwegian Star? In cabin and on deck
Asked by: Gerardo
Staterooms each have one or two outlets at the dressing table near the foot of the bed. These are combination plugs with connections for both US standard 110 volt as well as European standard 220 volt devices. In some rooms there is a 110 volt low-wattage outlet in the bathroom which is suitable only for small items like electric shavers, toothbrushes, phone chargers, etc.

Is the soda package for can pepsi or only fountain drinks? Sale picture says limited availability. ??

picture shows cans but description says unlimited fountain drinks.
Asked by: SHIRLEYCINDY
Frequently requested beverages such as Pepsi and Diet Pepsi are available as fountain drinks. Some other sodas such as root beer are available only in cans. The soda package includes both fountain drinks and soft drinks available in cans. Your bartender or server usually will not let you take the can with you, but will pour your canned beverage and then keep the can at the bar. I assume that the "limited availability" notice is to advise you that, like any other restaurant, they sometimes run out of a product until the next scheduled resupply opportunity.

Laundry

How long does it take to get the laundry back after you put a full bag in and does it all come back folded
Asked by: Dalrypt
If you specify regular service and turn in your laundry by 9:00 AM, it will be returned to you the following day around 6:00 PM. If you ask for expedited service and turn it in by 9:00 AM it will come back the same evening. You can request either folded or on hangers. Around the middle of your cruise the ship will offer a laundry special in which you can have one full bag of clothing laundered for a single low price. Because so many people take advantage of the special, however, the laundry crew usually returns all clothing folded on that day even if you have asked for it on hangers.

What is the dress code in the dining rooms and specialty restaurants?

What is the dress code in the dining rooms and specialty restaurants? Is there a difference between the two main dining rooms?
Asked by: kathijohn
In the four cruises we have taken on the Star, I have noticed that guests in the Aqua restaurant dress a bit more casually than in Versailles or the specialty venues. That said, the standard for all restaurants is cruise casual. There usually will be one or two "dress up or not" nights on each cruise, when passengers are encouraged, but not required, to dress up, but even on those nights slacks and a polo shirt are perfectly acceptable. On NCL Star balcony rooms, is the coffee maker a Kuerig pod style?

Asked by: BusybeeVA
The last time I was on the Star our Balcony stateroom had a Hamilton Beach coffee maker. On an earlier cruise on the Star, our Suite had a Keurig machine. I also have seen LavAzza machines on some ships. Unfortunately, you may not be able to know for sure until you are on board or if you know someone who sails in the same stateroom shortly before your cruise.

Wondering about the power outlet voltage on NCL Star

Just wondering if we should bring a converter for electricity. We are from Missouri and all of our are 110. We will be on the January/Feb trip through the Panama Canal. Don't have our room number yet. Do you have that listed yet? It is a balcony room. Thank you so much.
Asked by: grandpamo
All NCL ships have both US and European (continental, not British) outlets, so you won't need a converter. There aren't many outlets, though, so you might consider a power strip, charging station, or the like.
