Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe

Pointe-à-Pitre, the largest city of Guadeloupe, is located on the eastern "butterfly wing" of the overseas French region, on the Caribbean Sea. Amongst the most popular attractions are the open-air markets, just a few streets from the harbour, where you can experience the animated culture and people of this unique island. Be sure to visit the city's major landmark, the Gustav Eiffel-designed Cathédrale de St. Pierre-et-St-Paul, nicknamed the "Iron Cathedral" because of its unique bolted iron rib skeleton.
