The municipality of Elche has the highest concentration of palm trees in Europe, and your drive into town takes you through part of the palm groves to visit the enchanting Priest’s Garden. Admire the abundant variety of Mediterranean plant species as you stroll the serene winding pathways. There’s a rock garden, with a superb collection of cacti and succulents. A highlight of the garden is an eight-trunk Imperial Palm - a botanical rarity. You’ll be treated to a tasting of locally produced delicacies such as dates, fig bread and date liqueur.

You’ll see the beautiful exterior of the Basilica of St. Mary, famous for their annual reenactment of the life of the Virgin Mary.
