St. Croix is a quiet laid-back island with natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage. Drive along the coastline and past popular Cane Bay Beach on the way to Christiansted. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your tour guide and you’ll start your walking tour the best way to explore the town. Christiansted’s well preserved Danish architecture and graceful shaded archways tie together many points of interest in the town.

Among those overlooking the harbor is Fort Christiansvern, built by the Danes to ward off pirates and threats from other countries. Nearby Steeple building is the islands first church which is now a museum. Enjoy one hour of free time to stroll along the Christiansted boardwalk and take in the sights and sounds of its quaint shops, restaurants and picturesque harbor.

Of all three historic towns in the Virgin Islands, the history of Frederiksted is one of the most remarkable. You’ll enjoy a walking tour that shares the history of the town while showcasing the colorful waterfront, historic Fort Frederik, Victorian buildings and historic churches. You’ll begin on the waterfront adjacent to the pier and wind your way through the wide avenues of the town, from Strand Street to Customs House Street, then on to Prince Street where the Old Danish School and St. Patrick’s Church stand then to King Cross Street and ending at Strand Street Park.

An inside visit to Fort Frederik and the Caribbean Museum is included. Guides will highlight the important architectural and design elements of the historic buildings which reflect both the Danish Colonial and African influences of the builders, history of the families who own and occupy the buildings and their historic uses. The tour ends outside the Mall in the front street.

Enjoy a drive to the wonderful 16 acre St. George Botanical Gardens. This property was once home to an Indian village, a Danish Sugar Plantation, a cattle ranch until becoming a garden in 1972 – it is listed in the National Registry of Historic Sites. You’ll enjoy a spectacular mix of history and natural beauty with a variety of themed garden areas set among the historic structures of the colonial sugarcane plantation.

Buck Island is a must for every visitor, whether you snorkel the underwater trail or just enjoy the cruise. Proclaimed as a National Monument by President John F. Kennedy in June, 1962, Buck Island sits off St. Croix's North Coast and consists of approximately 40,000 acres of sea and land.

Its’ main beauty lies in the fantastic reefs and a unique underwater trail. You’ll depart from the Frederiksted for a 45 minute scenic non-guided drive across the island to Christiansted. Enjoy a relaxing 40 minute powerboat ride touring the North Shore of St Croix on your way to Buck Island Reef where you’ll enjoy 1 hour snorkeling time at the Marine Garden. All snorkeling gear, flotation devices and lessons are included in this underwater adventure, with guided touring as well as free exploration time. Sodas, water, and rum punch will be provided.

The Captain and crew of the “Jolly Mon” will escort you to your custom built 63 foot classic sailing catamaran. You’ll be spoiled as you sail one hour along St. Croix’s west end beaches, and along “Sandy Point” one of the largest bird and turtle sanctuaries in the Caribbean. Listen to great music, while you relax aboard your spacious catamaran. Soft drinks, water, rum punch, and other rum drinks provided.

Rated as one of the most relaxing beaches you’ll arrive at Rainbow Beach, where you can swim a short distance to from the catamaran. The crew is ready at all times to assist anyone that cannot swim with flotation devices and personal guidance. There are restroom facilities on board your boat as well at Rainbow beach, a full restaurant and bar is available at the beach for an additional cost. After approximately two hours of beach time enjoy a short ride back to your ship.

Visit the Salt River National Park and Ecological Preserve and paddle the calm, protected waters of the Salt River just as the Taino and Carib Indians did. A short 30 minute scenic drive will bring you here. Paddle among lush mangrove forests while spying snowy egrets, sunbathing iguanas and discovering Indian burial grounds and villages. Learn what happened when Christopher Columbus anchored outside the reef at Salt River in 1493 and paddle the same landing site as his crew did.

A Frederiksted dive on the Leeward side of St. Croix offers lake like conditions and the opportunity to dive three wreck sites and a virgin coral reef with a variety of marine life. That’s why it’s been voted one of the top dive spots in the Caribbean by Skin Diver Magazine.

Your shallow wreck tour starts with the Suffolk Maid, a 144’ North Sea fishing trawler that sits in 60' of water. You'll proceed past a barge named The Virgin Islander. Progressing along to the final wreck, you’ll dive the North Wind, a 75’ tugboat sitting in only 40' of water. The North Wind was used in the movie "Dreams of Gold, The Mel Fisher Story". Second dive spot will be at a healthy, very colorful, coral reef. At an average depth of just 45’, it is a relaxing, easy dive. Conveniently, it’s less than a 10 minute ride back to the cruise ship pier after this dive.
