    Amongst the locals, French, English and Seselwa (Seychelles Creole) are the official languages. To ask how someone is in Seselwa, say "Komman sava?" "Silvouple" means please and "eskiz mon" means excuse me.

    in Praslin, the Seychellois Rupee is the currency used to make purchases. You won't find big malls on this island. Rather, you can shop in small retail outlets located along beaches and in hotels to purchase local goods, including pottery, jewellery and textiles.

      There are many regulations in place to protect the endangered coco de mer palms. Very few shops are licensed to sell its seeds (largest seed in the world and uniquely shaped). If you wish to get one, be sure to obtain the government seal and export license with the purchase in order to take it off the island with you.

      The Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - is located in the Praslin National Park and is only one of two places in the world where you can find the rare coco de mer palm. The area is also a birder's paradise where you may see the endangered black parrot, Seychelles bulbul, Seychelles warbler and more.

      Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Anse Lazio Beach is located in the northwest portion of the island where powder-soft sands stretch from pristine turquoise waters to large, picturesque granite boulders.
