Depart the pier for the drive to Huaca Pucllana, an archaeological site that is in the middle of one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of the city. Here you will have an opportunity to explore the remains of the Huaca, buildings that belonged to an ancient civilization that existed between the 5th and 8th centuries B.C.

Next you'll drive through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores to take the Pan-American Highway towards the Pachacamac Pilgrimage Center, built by a pre-Incan civilization around 700 A.D. as a temple of the Sun God. Traces remain of vivid frescoes that decorated the interior, and evidence shows that doors were elaborately inlaid with turquoise, coral and rock crystal.

Located in an extremely arid climate, the adobe buildings remained in good condition until a freak storm in the 1920s caused massive erosion. Still impressive, these ruins evoke vivid images of the people and culture that once inhabited them. Head to one of the most important Peruvian Paso horse breeder ranches in the country, where you’ll learn about these stepping horses. Watch an exhibition by some of these champion equines, each adorned in handcrafted leather and silver, and feast on a delicious country lunch prepared in traditional Pachamanca-style, while enjoying a folkloric performance.
