City Tour & Bacardi Distillery w/Airport Transfer
hrs Estimate Duration
Visit the famed Bacardi rum distillery and then enjoy a sweeping tour of Old San Juan and a new affluent neighborhood before flying home.
After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a short but picturesque drive around San Juan Bay to Casa Bacardi, the famed Puerto Rican rum distillery in neighboring Cataño. Upon arriving in the bat wing-shaped visitor’s pavilion, you will receive a bracing welcome drink and then tour the “Cathedral of Rum,” the world’s largest premium rum distillery.
You will watch the rum being processed and learn fascinating facts about Bacardi. The company’s iconic bat logo dates to 1862, when bats, a symbol of good fortune, were found in the first Bacardi distillery. You may also pick up recipes for inspiring rum cocktails before heading to the residential Condado neighborhood in New San Juan.
As you drive through the leafy streets, you will pass one luxury tower after another and surely recognize some of the world’s most famous designer shops. It’s no wonder that Condado is one of the most affluent, sought-after sections of the city.
Old San Juan enchants in an entirely different way. Ponce de Leon founded the walled city in 1521 and its history will come alive when visiting the landmark San Cristobal fort. As you wander about San Cristobal, the largest Spanish-built fort in the New World, be sure to visit the Devil’s Sentry Box, where according to legend soldiers mysteriously disappeared.
Afterwards, you will drive to the airport for your flight home.
