Interact with southern stingrays at aptly named Stingray Beach and then come ashore for a relaxing and fun-filled experience on the beach. As you will discover, these relatively flat, diamond-shaped marine animals typically measure 3 to 4 feet across with the females being larger than the males. During your time with these remarkably docile and graceful creatures, feel free to pet, hold and even feed them. Be sure to rub their skin, which feels rough in one direction and silky smooth in the other. Stingrays are used to human contact, so you can expect an immensely fulfilling experience. Afterwards, you can snorkel with stingrays and other marine life in a larger protected enclosure with a coral reef. More good times await on the beach, where you will enjoy a buffet of Mexican dishes and an open bar during the meal. You could also take a refreshing swim and watch an entertaining hermit crab race.

You’ll journey to the ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known today as Chacchoben, also known as "The Place of Red Corn". At the pier, you’ll be greeted by a bilingual guide who will direct you to an air-conditioned bus. Onboard the bus your guide will brief you on the interesting history and unique attributes of this sacred Mayan site. Upon arrival at Chacchoben you’ll be surrounded by jungle. Your guide will escort you through the ruins, giving you a complete explanation of the sacred temples and other structures seen there. See original red paint on the stucco walls of one of the pyramids and the temple where a mural was found showing the astronomical positions of the planet Venus. You’ll have time to climb the Gran Basamento taking you above tree level. Here archaeologists found ceremonial offerings dating to around 1000 B.C. Your guide will also explain about the wildlife and medicinal plants that are used by the modern-day descendants of the ancient Mayan people. During the tour, you will reach a structure known as the Gran Basamento, which is not a pyramid, but an elevated platform.

Zip through Placencia Lagoon on a wave runner leaving a rooster tail in your wake and the mainland in your rear view mirror. After watching a short orientation video that will help maximize the experience, you will hop aboard a wave runner and tear off across the lagoon. The ride will be exhilarating from start to finish. To ensure that you see all the sights, a guide will lead the way with the wave runners following more or less caravan-style. The numerous mangrove-rimmed islands that you will spot scattered about are well-protected, as their ecologically important trees filter impurities from the water and stabilize the shoreline. The lagoon’s water is typically smooth enough so you can easily carve your way across the surface without encountering any wakes other than your own.

Interact with capybaras – highly social, semi-aquatic mammals indigenous to South America – at Ocean World and enjoy the marine park’s other attractions at your leisure. As you will discover firsthand during the capybara encounter, they are cute, cuddly and twice the size of beavers. Chances are, the capybaras will come right up to you. You will notice that their toes are webbed for efficient paddling and that their eyes, noses and hairless ears are on the tops of their heads so they can be aware of their surroundings when mostly submerged. Ocean World offers plenty of other animal encounters. You could see an ever-changing parade of brilliantly colored fish while snorkeling, observe dolphins and sea lions in other areas of the park and come across macaws and toucans while walking through the rainforest. With burled wood features, flat screen, open lounge-style seating and special water toys, enjoy a stunning cruise along St. Thomas' spectacular coast line, and then anchor in the pristine waters of Island Cove.
Here, you'll have approximately 1 hour to relax, snorkel and swim while listening to great music. Enjoy one of the world's most spectacular down island views. If you like you can hang out and relax on the "noodle line". Afterwards, continue on a picturesque cruise along to a quaint picturesque beach, where you'll have another 45 minutes of beach time on powdery white sands.
