Maximize your time in Bermuda on this great combination tour! First, enjoy sightseeing the rural west end of the island during your short shuttle ride to Somerset Island. Here you'll be provided a Mountain Bike and equipped with a durable bike helmet. After receiving instruction on riding and safety, you'll begin your guided cycle tour along the original Bermuda Railway Trail. During your bike ride, your guide will stop at various points of interest along the mostly flat trail and provide informative commentary along the way. You'll also enjoy spectacular scenery along the trail, and time permitting you'll have the opportunity to hike up to the historic Fort Scaur and view the sprawling 17th century Mott Family estate. After your ride, cool off with a refreshing swim at a private, calm water beach.

Join this tour and travel across the island into Bermuda’s one and only Tom Moore’s Jungle, filled with caves to explore and swimming adventures to take part in. Majestic scenery awaits you as you enter this lush reserve filled with colorful native birds. Enjoy approximately 2 hours in the jungle which includes swimming in a wet cave, the option to cliff jump, hike and explore a dry cave. Few places in Virginia are as naturally beautiful as the Norfolk Botanical Garden, which is almost entirely rimmed by Lake Whitehurst. While meandering through the dozens of themed, meticulously maintained gardens, be sure to note the variety of champion trees, which are the largest tree specimens in the state. The Cape Henry Lighthouse is another landmark situated on a magnificent stretch of shoreline. It rises above the beach at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay, near the spot where the first English colonists landed in 1607 before finally settling in Jamestown. Built in 1792, it has the distinction of being the first federally funded public works project of the newly formed United States. A panoramic drive through nearby Virginia Beach will add more historical context, a perfect complement to the coastal beauty that the lengthy oceanfront boardwalk affords.

OVERVIEW

Zip through the streets and back alleys of historical St. George on an electric trike for an effortless exploration of this UNESCO World Heritage site town. After a briefing on how to operate the trike and a trial run, you will be ready to take off on a one-of-a-kind journey through downtown. Pedaling or balancing isn’t required like on a conventional bike so you can concentrate on the sights along the way. The exact route will depend on the conditions and traffic, but you can expect to see many of the most historical landmarks. They include where the rum runners operated during Prohibition, the Unfinished Church – which was started in 1874 and is still only partially built – and the site of Joseph Rainey’s barbershop before he returned to America to become the first African-American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. The guide will describe the importance of each attraction during the 3-mile ride.

OVERVIEW

Observe the wonders underwater through the transparent bottom of your kayak while paddling through the sheltered waters off Ely’s Harbour in the West End. After a brief orientation to ensure that you maximize the experience, you will ease into a two-person kayak and paddle off into the harbor’s typically calm and clear waters. You will glide past shores lined with environmentally friendly mangroves, pause to admire the dramatically eroded cliff known Cathedral Rock and gaze out over Wreck Hill, where the Sea Venture supposedly wrecked in 1609 stranding its English crew and passengers. You may also paddle around the beach-rimmed islands that dot the natural harbor and stop to swim. Even so, the most unusual part of this adventure is watching the marine life through the kayak’s clear bottom. You may see brightly colored blue angelfish, striped sergeant majors, princess parrotfish and spotted eagle rays, all of which are native to Bermuda.

Sail around Hampton Roads harbor on a 135-foot schooner, taking in the sights and helping to sail the ship if you like. After boarding the American Rover, a sleek three-mast topsail schooner, you will soon set off. The natural harbor is enormous as it encompasses the mouths of the Elizabeth and James rivers, which then flow into the Chesapeake Bay. The harbor is also quite historical, having played key roles in the American Revolution, War of 1812 and American Civil War. Along the shoreline, you will see lush parks, placid bays, small rivers and the Craney Island U.S. Naval Reservation. To enhance the experience, the crew will provide commentary about the attractions and historical notes. You may also join the crew, by setting the ship’s distinctive red sails, taking the helm or learning to tie nautical knots. The experience can be interactive or you can simply sit back and relax.

Lace up for an energizing guided hike through the heart of Halifax, combining city landmarks, harbor views, local history, and a rewarding cardiovascular challenge. Begin with a warm-up along the waterfront and a stair climb at the Muir Hotel before continuing through downtown streets toward the Old Town Clock and Citadel Hill. Tackle the steep ascent and approximately 90–100 stairs leading to the summit, where sweeping views of Halifax Harbour and stories of the historic star-shaped fortress await. After the climb, descend toward the Halifax Public Gardens for a relaxed cool-down stroll through this beautifully landscaped Victorian oasis before returning to the pier, completing approximately 6–7 km of walking and 90–120 meters of elevation gain.

Step aboard a comfortable and stable catamaran for a trip to the northernmost coral reef in the world. Relax on deck while the crew provides informative commentary on the island and the fascinating undersea ecosystem. After a leisurely cruise, you'll find yourself moored in a magical deep blue oasis, bordered by fringe reef on nearly all sides. Here, you'll be given a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy vest and instruction on how you may best enjoy this undersea paradise. Immerse yourself in crystal clear waters under the watchful eye of your instructors and explore the great expanses of pristine reef.
