Cruise to Hamilton and explore the capital however you please by shopping on your own, enjoying a walking tour. After departing from the pier, you will soon settle in for a delightful cruise across the Great Sound, a body of impossibly turquoise water that fills the bend in the islands distinctive fishhook shape. A coral reef at the mouth of the sound shelters the inner waters, making for a typically calm cruise to the pastel-colored capital of Hamilton. Upon disembarking, you will have several options. If you choose to shop on your own, you can expect to find one-of-a-kind jewelry, vivid artwork celebrating the island life, and classic Bermuda shorts in every color of the rainbow. You might also pick up a tasty treat like rum cake or a jar of jam flavored with Scotch bonnet peppers. Another option is to split your time between exploring on your own and an enlightening walking tour of Hamilton. Either way, you may see the glorious Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, leafy Victoria Park and the Bermuda National Gallery, a showcase for centuries of outstanding island artwork.

    OVERVIEW

Begin with a scenic drive along the South Shore, a coastline of pink sand beaches, colorful homes, and ocean views. Arrive in the historic village of Flatts, where a picturesque inlet opens to the sea, to board your cruise. Cruise around Harrington Sound on a 30-foot catamaran and learn about the unique ecology of this large body of water that at first glance appears to be a land-locked lake. As you will discover, an almost imperceptible channel connects the sound with the ocean so the water is briny and tidal. As you glide through the turquoise waters of Harrington Sound—a hotspot of marine and coastal life—you’ll pass limestone cliffs, hidden caves, and secluded inlets while your guide shares stories of Bermuda’s volcanic origins, coastal culture, and unique ecosystems. Look out for Bermuda’s iconic Longtail birds and vibrant sea life, and soak in the views of Trunk Island and the Sound’s remarkable underwater caves. Back on land, enjoy an exclusive behind the scenes visit to the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo (BAMZ) and hear from experts who care for more than 200 marine species, and visit the Turtle Rehabilitation Pool to learn how the conservation team nurses injured sea turtles back to health and hear the stories behind their rescues. Your journey continues with a scenic North Shore drive, showcasing the island’s striking coastline and view of Governor's House, before you arrive in Hamilton. After a brief stop in the City Centre, you’ll be led on a guided driving tour through the city’s waterfront, historic architecture, and vibrant streets before heading back to the ship.

    OVERVIEW

Hear enlightening commentary about the British overseas territory of Bermuda on a scenic drive to a resort in Somerset Village, where you will indulge in a traditional English tea. The British influence will be apparent most everywhere you go, beginning with the Royal Naval Dockyard. It was established as a British base of operations between Nova Scotia and the West Indies after the English were defeated in the American Revolution, and it was used militarily until abandoned in the 1980s. Bermuda’s first settlers were British – although they arrived inadvertently after being shipwrecked in 1609 – and the self-governing archipelago still follows a parliamentary system based on the United Kingdom’s. Heydon Chapel is perhaps the earliest reminder of England’s presence as it was built in 1620. You might contemplate all that you have seen and heard about Britain over a spot of tea, scones and cakes at the waterfront Willowbank resort.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Settle in for a wonderfully scenic drive and hear commentary that highlights the attractions.
    • Recognize Britain’s deep influence in Bermuda, which is still a British overseas territory.
    • Enjoy the quintessential English experience – a traditional tea with cakes and scones.

    OVERVIEW

Spend hours relaxing on a beach that the locals prefer because it is usually less crowded than other stretches of sand. To ensure that you have everything you could possibly need, you will first stop at a mini-mart to stock up on your favorite snacks and drinks. It won’t take long to reach Chaplin Bay, giving you all the more time to enjoy its secluded beach, a beautiful setting tucked along Bermuda’s southern shore. The sand is soft pink, the water brilliant blue and the sea is typically calm as the beach is sheltered by the large boulders that bookend it. With your included amenities feel free to pull up a beach chair and bask in the sun or, if you prefer the shade, Umbrellas[AG2.1]. There will be plenty of time to take a refreshing swim, stroll along the shore and do most of anything else you please with no schedule to follow other than your own.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Relax as you please on the beautiful pink beach that rims Chaplin Bay.
    • Stretch out on a beach chair or enjoy the shade under a beach umbrella.
    • Enjoy the seclusion of Chaplin Bay and its sheltered waters.

    OVERVIEW

Stroll through the enchanting streets of St. George – the oldest English settlement in the New World – and stop for cocktails at some of its most historical landmarks. You will walk among 17th- and 18th-century buildings that are so architecturally important that UNESCO named St. George a World Heritage site. The first stop will be Stewart Hall, an atmospheric stone cottage that has been repurposed as a perfumery. As you hear about the history of the building, a mixologist will make you a cocktail using local ingredients that include Goslings spirits, which have been produced in Bermuda since 1806. Similarly, at the Mitchell House Museum, you will enjoy a classic Bermudian cocktail while browsing its exhibits. The Globe Hotel occupies an even older building as you will discover while touring its garden, again with a cocktail in hand. You will toast the island’s history once more with a glass of prosecco at the gift shop Long Story Short.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Walk through architecturally rich St. George, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
    • Enjoy cocktails at historical landmarks from the 17th and 18th centuries.
    • Learn about the history of the buildings and how they have been repurposed over time.
    • Take the tender to St. George, which occupies Bermuda’s northeastern tip.

    OVERVIEW

Cruise along Bermuda’s western shore in a sleek catamaran and enjoy free time snorkeling and swimming off one of the sandbars. While cruising, you will hear entertaining stories about the history of Royal Naval Dockyard and how Bermuda has evolved since its founding in 1612. The scenery will be extraordinary the entire way, but especially once the catamaran anchors in the shallows. You will be free to swim in the crystal-clear waters and snorkel the coral reefs, which are teeming with marine life. Bright blue tangs, queen triggerfish and reddish squirrelfish are frequently spotted. You may even catch sight of hawksbill and green sea turtles gracefully swimming by. If you are looking for a little more activity, kayaks and paddleboards are available. Another highlight will be stopping to feed the fish gathered around the H.M.S Vixen, a ship that became an artificial reef after the British Royal Navy intentionally scuttled it in 1896.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Take in the gorgeous scenery while cruising a catamaran along Bermuda’s western shore.
    • Relax on a sandbar and swim in the crystal-clear shallows if you wish.
    • Behold countless tropical fish and perhaps even sea turtles if you opt to snorkel.
    • Feed the fish around the wreck of a 19th-century ship that has become an artificial reef.
