    Cannes & Nice

    Before leaving Monaco, you’ll drive along the F1 circuit towards the motorway to Cannes. Enjoy a stop in this world-renowned resort which is host to so many glittering movie festivals. After stopping in Cannes, you’ll continue along a partly scenic coastal road that will lead you to Nice. Enter the city driving along the Promenade des Anglais, a splendid palm-lined boulevard stretching three miles along the Baie des Anges. You’ll pass landmarks such as the legendary Negresco, an imposing hotel with a Rococo facade.


    Your drive continues passing Regina Hotel to Cimiez Hill, a sophisticated part of Nice with many large villas. You’ll pass the Franciscan Monastery, gardens and Roman arenas before arriving in Old Nice. Here you’ll walk to the old town for a visit where tall houses, bright with flowers or washing, protect from the glare of sun and keep the streets cool. Continue with a walk on Cours Saleya, the elegant promenade of Old Nice, lined with shops and restaurants and with the famous flower market. On the way back to the ship, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive to Monaco.

    Highlights of Monaco

    Monte Carlo, Monaco

    See just how incredibly scenic the Principality of Monaco as you are treated to a panoramic drive and a short photo stop at the Exotic Gardens before ascending to the Old City "The Rock". You’ll enjoy passing by the monumental stone Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium, inaugurated in 1910 by Prince Albert I, on your walking tour. Continue strolling through the narrow streets to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly married, now containing their tombs, and Palace Square, which is dominated by the magnificent residence of Prince Albert II. Some free time will be allocated for further exploration on your own.


    Rejoin your coach for a drive on a portion of the circuit of the Grand Prix to Monte Carlo, one of the area's signature attractions each year. Of course no visit to Monte Carlo would be complete without seeing Monte Carlo’s Grand Casino. Arriving at the Casino Square, you’ll have some free time to explore the amazing architecture, stained glass windows and allegorical paintings.

    Note: Tour involves walking approximately 1/2 miles over leveled surfaces in Monaco. Interior visits are not included. For guests wishing to visit the cathedral, please dress appropriately - no bare shoulders, shorts, or skirts above the knee.


    Casino de Monte Carlo opens its Salles Americaines (free admission) at 2:00pm, with slot machines only. Salles Publiques (entrance fee of 10 Euros in cash) is open at 2:00pm for Roulette and slot machines. Visitors must be at least 18 years of age and show passport or ID Card. Morning tours to Monte Carlo will not be able to enter the Grand Casino. There is a free-admission, American-style casino at the Cafe de Paris, which opens at 10:00am.

    Departing Monaco, an approximately 45 minute drive takes you along the Middle Corniche, one of the most scenic routes of the French Riviera, to arrive in Nice. You’ll enter the city along the Promenade des Anglais, a splendid palm-lined boulevard stretching three miles along the Baie des Anges and pass landmarks such as the legendary Negresco, an imposing hotel with a Rococo facade. The drive continues to Cimiez Hill, a sophisticated part of Nice with many large villas.


    You’ll pass the Franciscan Monastery, gardens and Roman arenas. Discover Nice at a leisurely pace as you are introduced to the wonderful delights of Nice by combining a relaxing ride aboard an open-air “sightseeing train” with a stroll in the old town, where tall houses, bright with flowers or washing, protect from the glare of sun and keep the streets cool. Enjoy a walk on Cours Saleya, the elegant promenade of Old Nice, now lined with shops, restaurants, and the famous flower market held in these picturesque quarters (the Flower Market is closed on Mondays).     Scenic French Riviera & Fragonard Perfume Factory

    One of the most awe-inspiring roadways in the French Riviera, stretches along the coastline affording unparalleled views. As you drive along this legendary panoramic road, you'll pass by Vista Palace Hotel and catch a quick glimpse on Monaco and Monte Carlo from above.


    Once on the Middle Corniche, you'll have an expansive view of the northern mountains, where the village of Eze perches near the top. You’ll enjoy a brief stop in a square that offers the best vantage view, just at the foot of the mountains. On clear days classic French villages come into view as you continue your journey, including Beaulieu, Cap Ferrat, Villefranche, Nice and Cap d'Antibes. The scenery seems almost impossibly beautiful as you ease onto the Lower Corniche and take in more picturesque villages and return to Monte Carlo.

    Rothschild Foundation and Villefranche

    The treasures of the exquisite Cap Ferrat Peninsula are yours to behold during this scenic tour of the Rothschild Foundation and a visit to Villefranche. This tour departs the pier for a drive to the Cap Ferrat Peninsula and a visit to the former residence of the Baroness of Rothschild. Upon arrival, guests will explore this wonderful pink home inspired by the Italian Renaissance palazzini completely surrounded by a lovely 14-acre garden.
