Observe the wonders underwater through the transparent bottom of your kayak while paddling through the sheltered waters off Ely’s Harbour in the West End. After a brief orientation to ensure that you maximize the experience, you will ease into a two-person kayak and paddle off into the harbor’s typically calm and clear waters. You will glide past shores lined with environmentally friendly mangroves, pause to admire the dramatically eroded cliff known Cathedral Rock and gaze out over Wreck Hill, where the Sea Venture supposedly wrecked in 1609 stranding its English crew and passengers. The seaside pool lies within the Arikok National Park, an environmentally protected wonderland that covers nearly 20% of the island. Snorkel with sea turtles in their natural habitat and swim in the aquamarine waters of a natural sinkhole that formed centuries ago. Green sea turtles are the most prevalent species of turtle in Akumal Bay, a sanctuary of sorts where you will enjoy an up-close underwater view of these magnificent creatures as they gracefully swim by and feed on seagrass along the sandy bottom. Greens are the largest of all hard-shelled sea turtles and typically weigh up to 350 pounds. The turtles are brownish not green as their name comes from the color of the fat beneath their shells. You will also have the opportunity to swim in the Mariposa Cenote, an inland sinkhole created when the limestone on the surface collapsed, exposing the groundwater underneath. The ancient Maya used cenotes as water sources but also believed them to be entrances to the underworld. As such, the pools were considered sacred.

At the summit, you will hop in a bobsled patterned after the one that Jamaica’s Olympic team rode in the 1988 Winter Olympics. Sail through Bora Bora’s gorgeous lagoon in an intimate deck boat, taking in the island’s astounding natural beauty and then snorkeling through the crystal-clear waters. This is a perfect way to discover the beauty of the Pearl of the Pacific, joining the pleasure of boating in a small group.

Your guide will welcome you onboard this intimate, partially covered deck boat, and you’ll cruise into Bora Bora’s reef-ringed lagoon. The beaches are sugar-white, the water absolutely brilliant, and the lush backdrop of Bora Bora, a veritable Shangri-La. Few places on earth rival this setting. Cruise past Motu Tapu, and see from the distance, one of the most photographed islands in the entire South Pacific. You will notice that Bora Bora is actually a caldera, and the two peaks at the center of the island—Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu—are the remnants of an extinct volcano. After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive at a small village near the mouth of the Monkey River, where you will begin a leisurely cruise upstream. Along the way, the guide will provide enlightening commentary about the region's history, including how the economy boomed in the late 19th century when large volumes of bananas were exported.

Little evidence of that thriving time period remains, as the meandering Monkey River is bordered by undeveloped rainforest. Natural beauty and remarkably diverse flora and fauna are now the main attractions.

You can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles sunning on the riverbanks, turtles popping their heads above the water's surface, and iguanas perched in the tree limbs. You might even spot a troop of black howler monkeys screeching in the forest.

Join seasoned Bering Sea fishermen for an extraordinary journey of discovery on the Aleutian Ballad, a storied crab boat featured on the television series “Deadliest Catch.” You will set out into the protected waters off Ketchikan and relax in the heated and sheltered outdoor amphitheater until the boat reaches prime crabbing water. In time, the crew will start hauling up crab pots and long lines from the depths, revealing all manner of sea life such as king crab, octopus, prawns and rock fish. Enjoy a fun and exciting drive on your off-road safari jeep with wonderful views of Tortola and the surrounding islands from viewpoints that are not the typical tourist route. Your scenic drive around the island takes you through villages, on and off-roads and along coastal roadways.

Departing the cruise port, you will pass through Road Town before following a trail up to Ridge Road. There will be stops at various points for photo opportunities. Next, visit a beach and have a refreshing drink. Rinse the dust off with a swim in the sea, or relax on the white-sand beach before continuing back to the ship.

OVERVIEW

Interact with capybaras – highly social, semi-aquatic mammals indigenous to South America – at Ocean World and enjoy the marine park’s other attractions at your leisure. As you will discover firsthand during the capybara encounter, they are cute, cuddly and twice the size of beavers. Chances are, the capybaras will come right up to you. You will notice that their toes are webbed for efficient paddling and that their eyes, noses and hairless ears are on the tops of their heads so they can be aware of their surroundings when mostly submerged. Ocean World offers plenty of other animal encounters. You could see an ever-changing parade of brilliantly colored fish while snorkeling, observe dolphins and sea lions in other areas of the park and come across macaws and flamingos while walking through the rainforest. There will also be time for shopping, dining, watching a folkloric dance and swimming in the lagoon and freshwater pool.
