Great Stirrup Cay

Great Stirrup Cay (GSC), Norwegian Cruise Line's 270-acre private island in the Bahamas, is entering a new era-bringing even more excitement, energy, and elevated experiences to this already iconic destination. A resort-style escape surrounded by white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, NCL's private island destination in the Bahamas offers guests the ultimate blend of relaxation and adventure with a fresh wave of new offerings for families and every type of guest to design their individual 'Escape to the Great Life.'

Coming in 2026, the island will be transformed to offer guests even more freedom and flexibility to enjoy their island escape. The soon-to-be hallmark attraction will be the nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark, featuring 19 thrilling and laid-back slides, an 800-foot dynamic river, the industry’s only 10 & 15-foot cliff jumps, the Caribbean’s only family slide accommodating up to four guests at a time, a dedicated 9,000-square-foot children’s splash zone, swim up bars, private cabanas and so much more.

Enhancments recently debuted in December 2025 include:

• A multi-ship pier, allowing guests to step off the ship and onto the island with ease
• A convenient tram service that makes it easy to explore every corner of the island
• The 1.4-acre Great Life Lagoon, designed with both adults and families in mind with a 28,000-square-foot pool with aquatic features for kids, complimentary loungers, private cabanas, swim-up bars and Splash Harbor, the 3,000-square foot splash area for families just 150-feet from the main pool. The space offers a relaxed and energizing atmosphere for all age groups.
• Vibe Shore Club, an adults-only retreat offering premium loungers and bar service.  

Norwegian Cruise Line has owned the island since 1977, becoming the first cruise line in the industry to offer a private tropical island experience exclusively for its guests. 

Guests can take advantage of all the exciting activities the island has to offer, from swimming with pigs, stand-up paddle board and snorkeling through coral reefs, to simply relaxing in a beach cabana or luxury villa boasting breathtaking views.

Silver Cove 

Silver Cove is the exclusive oceanfront resort-style retreat on the Company’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. The enclave features an oceanfront lagoon area complete with private beach access, beachfront villas, a Mandara Spa, a Moët & Chandon Bar, and the Silver Cove Restaurant and Bar. The private retreat is available to guests who rent a villa or reserve a spa treatment at the Mandara Spa.
