Enjoy the wild nature of this portion of northern Patagonia, where the Andes Mountain Range sinks into the ocean, resulting in dozens of small lakes and rivers surrounded by majestic mountains. Begin your adventure with a short scenic drive from Puerto Chacabuco to Lake Los Palos. After a safety briefing, you’ll paddle along the western shore of the lake northward until reaching the Tabo River, which feeds the lake.

This is an area of calm, crystalline waters. The next part of the navigation takes you upstream, where you’ll see the varied native vegetation and the typical Patagonian birds that inhabit this area, such as the kingfisher, eagles, several species of ducks and more. Stop to stretch your legs and take a short walk into the woods before continuing your navigation. You’ll reach a small island full, where a second stop is made in order to rest for a while and regain some energy with a light snack, before heading back to the starting point.
