Cuba is well known for having some of the best rum and cigars in the world and the most colorful and vibrant art you can imagine. Now you can enjoy it all in one place – Havana.
Your tour begins at the Museo del Ron, home to the most famous Cuban rum, Havana Club.
Located in the historic district of Habana Vieja ("old Havana"), the museum is housed in a renovated 18th-century "solar" (colonial townhouse). The museum opened in the year 2000 by the Fundación Havana Club, and it is a symbol in the historical heart of Havana. Here, you will enjoy a guided tour, offered in Spanish, English, French, German and Italian, of the historical production of rum.
Afterwards, you will visit one of the finest cigar stores in Cuba, the Casa del Habano. Located right in the heart of modern Havana, on the corner of 5th Avenue and 16th Street in Cuba’s serene and opulent Miramar sector of Havana, is a cigar collector’s paradise.
Next you will stop in a local art gallery where you will be able to admire the work of one of the artists dedicated to Afro Cuban art.
Your last stop of the tour is at Callejón de Hammel, an alleyway in downtown Havana, where art, religion and music are blended. After chatting with the locals, you will attend an African musical instruments demonstration. Be prepared to play the tumbadora (conga) and to dance.
Your tour ends at the Graphic Experimental Workshop. it was established in the Callejón del Chorro, a popular dead end street next to the Plaza de la Cathedral in 1962. Its main promoters, the Cuban artist Orlando Suárez and the Chilean painter José Venturelli, enabled this artistic workshop from the recycling of stones and printing machinery discarded by the old Lithographic Company of Havana. Afterwards, you will return to the pier.
Need to Know:
Note: Participants must be at least 17 years of age. There are stairs at the cigar factory and rum factory. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests. Guests are advised bring a camera, rain gear/umbrella, flat/comfortable shoes and to dress in layers. This tour is OFAC compliant.
In the event of closure of the Cigar Factory and/or Rum Factory, guests will visit a Cigar store / show-room presentation instead. No cameras, no photos and no bags are allowed inside the factory.
