Taste the Town - Food and History
hrs Estimate Duration
Led by a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, this tasting tour will provide you with a great opportunity to sample some of the island's unique foods and beverages and gain an appreciation for the city's history. This walking tour of downtown Charlottetown will include stops at various cafes, restaurants and a brew pub, during which you'll get a taste of local fresh oysters, steamed mussels, craft beer, locally roasted coffee, hand-cut French fries and more.
Charlottetown history will also come alive through the engaging stories of some of the city's most fascinating people, buildings and events. Known as the Birthplace of Confederation, it hosted the 1864 Conference that began the process of establishing Canada as an independent nation. Banquets and private meals played a huge role in this historic event, so food is something the locals take great pride in.
