You will follow a dirt path over rolling hills, through deep mud, past an alligator graveyard, and on to a pond absolutely crawling with alligators. The vehicles are named after legendary crocodilians that once roamed Gatorland, such as Bonecrusher, a 15-foot-long alligator that tipped the scales at more than 1,000 pounds. You will also be free to explore other sections of the park, where you can observe baby alligators, albino alligators, and leucistic alligators, which are only partially white. All sorts of other animals are also on display in areas that resemble their natural habitats, including American crocodiles, Florida panthers, Amazon parrots, and Aldabra Giant Tortoises.

Spend hours relaxing however you please at Cocoa Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand just south of Cape Canaveral. It won’t take long to reach the beach, so you can maximize your time there. You might spend the entire time simply basking in the sun, strolling along the lengthy coastline and taking a refreshing swim in the Atlantic Ocean whenever the mood strikes. What you do will be completely up to you. Cocoa Beach is known for its excellent surf so you will likely see surfers riding the waves just off shore. All sorts of amenities are in the immediate vicinity, so there are plenty of options besides stretching out in the sun. You will pause to snap photos at the Canaveral Lock, which controls the tidal flow into the port, and at the Vehicle Assembly Building where NASA put together components for the space shuttles and Saturn V rockets. An Armed Personnel Carrier will then transport you to the tank course, where the real fun will begin. There, you will navigate over steep hills, around hairpin turns and through a mud hole so long and deep that anything but a tank would get stuck. While at the controls, you will get a feel for the sheer power of the tank and its ability to lay waste to just about anything in its path. An Abbot tank weighs about 17 tons and is pretty much unstoppable even in the harshest conditions. What a thrill to actually drive one through the wilds.
