Discover Oslo on Foot with Ice Bar
hrs Estimate Duration
Walk through the older part of town "Kvadraturen" and see how the city was rebuilt after the big fire in 1624. In the city’s ‘golden center,’ you’ll see monuments and buildings around Karl Johan Street – the Parliament Building, the University, the National Theater, and the Royal Palace.
Soon after passing the University of Oslo, you’ll arrive at the Ice bar. For your ice-cold adventure, you’ll get well equipped with a poncho and gloves. Enter the ice bar, built out of approximately 60 tons of ice, and where the design is changed every year. The blue light creates a special atmosphere. Enjoy your drink, served in a glass made of ice.
Continue your walk past the City Hall Square and the police horse stables before walking into the grounds of the Akershus Fortress, built in 1299. The site offers wonderful photo opportunities of the harbor.
