Flam is located is located on one of the innermost arms of the Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord at over 127 miles/204 km in length. Your tour starts by coach with a scenic drive through the Aurland Valley, famous for its scenic mountains, beautiful nature, culture and history. Climbing a twisty road, partly through tunnels, you'll glimpse the valley below before approaching a mountain pass, which until recently was only open during summer.
Soon you’ll reach the mountain chalets that were built in the courtyards of two old farms. At the Osterbo Mountain Lodge, 893 yards/817 meters above sea level, you’ll be served a typical Norwegian treat of waffles with coffee or tea. While enjoying your treat in the charming and authentic mountain lodge, you’ll have a lovely view over the wild landscape. Before returning to your ship, you’ll have a short stop in the village of Aurland, famous for its shoe production and beautiful church.
