The perfect blend of adventure and eco-tourism awaits on this fantastic tour of the Dumbea River , which meanders its way through the surrounding mineral rich hills.
Your adventure begins with a non-guided 30 minute transfer to the river’s bank where your guide meets you beside the cool, pristine, flowing river for a short introduction to the art of kayaking.
You will discover the landscapes of Dumbea River as you and your partner paddle a two-seater kayak. Eucalyptus forests and indigenous flora contrast with the predominantly red soil and deep green hues of the river. Once afloat, the tranquility of the river setting is only disrupted by the swish of paddles on a journey through one of the prettiest valleys in New Caledonia. Time is allowed for a swim before turning back downstream.
Need to Know:
Note: Kayaks are self-bailing and therefore you may find some water pools at the bottom as you paddle along. The river portion of this tour is approximately 1 ¾-hours. You should wear your swimwear underneath your clothing as there are no change facilities once at the Dumbea River. Closed toe shoes are compulsory. Please wear clothing suited to the activity and weather conditions, proper sun protection and bring a towel from the ship. Participants in water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility.
