Victoria is known as the cycling capital of Canada and offers great cycling routes throughout the city. Join your guide on a leisurely circular route through quiet neighborhoods, tree-lined streets and see some of the highlights of this lovely city. At Ogden Point you’ll be provided with a suitable bicycle, safety gear, and safety procedures to follow.
Your guide will highlight numerous points of interest on your ride and answer any questions that you may have. Stops will be made at Fisherman’s Wharf, the downtown shopping district and Chinatown. On your return, you’ll pass the majestic Parliament Buildings, The Empress Hotel and the Royal British Columbia Museum. You may ride back to the pier with your guide or enjoy more time here and return to the ship on your own.
Need to Know:
Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. A reasonable level of fitness is required and biking experience is essential. Participants should be able to ride approximately 6 miles, about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Route has been chosen to avoid uphill climbs. Dress in warm layers and bring rain-gear. Informal rests and photo stops will be taken as needed. Equipment is provided. Order of sights may vary.
Tours with this activity level involve a considerable amount of physical activity such as substantial walking over cobblestone streets, uneven or steep terrain, climbing stairs, or extended periods of standing. Not recommended for guests with physical limitations. Comfortable, sturdy shoes are recommended.
