    Indulge in a selection of delectable desserts while walking through some of San Francisco’s most attractive neighborhoods. Your confectionery adventure will begin with a snack not often thought of as a treat—a slice of toast—but one that has been elevated to an artisanal plane. Your so-called “fancy toast” may be topped with freshly ground almond butter or smashed avocado. One bite and you will understand how toast became such a craze. Upon reaching Alamo Square, you will pause for photos of the Painted Ladies, a cluster of seven colorful Victorian and Edwardian homes that are so iconic to San Francisco that they are referred to as Postcard Row. They are a treat for the eyes. Ahead lies the hip Hayes Valley neighborhood, where you will sample several unusually flavored ice creams before tantalizing your palate with a fresh-baked macaroon or an over-the-top cupcake.

    City Tour with Dim Sum Lunch

    San Francisco’s Chinatown is the original “Chinatown” and the oldest in the United States. its restaurants are considered to be the birthplace of Americanized Chinese cuisine and its Dim Sum tea houses are a major draw to the neighborhood. Today, experience a very traditional and authentic lunch of Dim Sum accompanied by a scenic exploration of the city and its dramatic bridge.


    From the pier, depart along the waterfront passing the ferry building and through Union Square to Grace Cathedral. The church was consecrated in 1868 only to be destroyed 28-years later by the great earthquake. Railroad baron and banker William Henry Crocker donated the property where it stands today. Pause here for photos of the French Gothic façade before continuing on for lunch.


    In the heart of Chinatown enjoy a Dim Sum Luncheon at one the neighborhood’s popular restaurants. Selections include; Steamed Pork Bun, Shrimp Dumpling, Chicken Spring Roll, Pot stickers, Ying Chow Fried Rice, Shrimp and Pork Dumpling, Vegetarian Chow Mein, Broccoli w/Oyster Sauce, Egg Custard, and a varying Tart menu. Following lunch, depart for the symbol of the city, the Golden Gate Bridge.


    The visitor’s pavilion of the bridge offers excellent views of the iconic span and informative information and representations of the bridge’s history and engineering. The ample shop offers souvenirs and books memorializing the city and structure. You can even venture out onto the span if you wish. At the appointed time, rejoin your guide for the return to the ship.

    From the pier, depart to the north passing fisherman’s wharf en route to view the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Here you pause at the pavilion visitors center which offers excellent views of the bridge and informative information and representations of the bridge’s history and engineering. The ample shop offers souvenirs and books memorializing the city and structure. From the pavilion east to Land’s End, where the city meets the sea.


    At Lands’ End, enjoy views over the Pacific Ocean while the nearby modern visitors center offers Indoor exhibits and videos on the natural and cultural history of the Land's End area, Sutro Baths and Sutro Heights. From the coast, drive along the Great Highway to Golden Gate Park on the way to one of the city’s seven hills, Twin Peaks. At 922 and 904 feet, respectively, South Peak and North Peak are the second- and third-highest hills in San Francisco. Enjoy postcard views over the entire bay from the viewpoint here before beginning the route back to the water’s edge passing a number of historic neighborhoods and building before arriving to the pier.


    Fog may obscure the views at all locations. Please wear layered clothing as temperatures can change abruptly throughout the duration of the tour.
