The City, The Reef and The Red Center - Double Occupancy

  • 5 Days / 4 Nights

Calling all adventurers! Immerse yourself into the Australian way of life while visiting various UNESCO World Heritage sites during this five-day overland program. You’ll begin by exploring the beautiful city of Darwin before your visit the Indigenous heartland of Australia when you journey to the ‘Red Centre’ to experience the beauty of Uluru (Ayer’s Rock). Finish your trip in style by enjoying the illustrious city of Cairns where you will experience wildlife encounters and the famous Great Barrier Reef.

In the morning, disembark the ship in Darwin and meet your dedicated tour guide for the next five days. Board your awaiting coach and start exploring the Northern Territory Capital. Your first stop will be the renowned Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory where you will appreciate a comprehensive display of Indigenous art and artifacts that reveal much about the various Aboriginal groups from Darwin. You’ll also learn about Cyclone Tracy which caused devastation in Darwin on Christmas Eve in 1974.

After this introduction, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the pristine coast of the northern city and its surroundings, with a stop at the stunning East Point Lookout and the magnificent displays of the Botanic Garden. Back to the city, you’ll have some free time to explore at leisure with and enjoy lunch on your own.

Following this, you will check-in to your hotel where you can relax for the next couple of hours. Feeling recharged, you will depart the hotel with your guide for a short walk, enjoying the scenery of Darwin City, to a local restaurant where you will indulge in a flavorful dinner of modern Australian cuisine, and the opportunity to connect with your fellow traveling companions, before making your way back to the hotel.

Overnight in Darwin.

Refuel with a hearty breakfast this morning before check-out and your transfer to the Darwin airport for your onward flight to Ayers Rock. Following your arrival, into Ayers Rock, transfer to your hotel for the next two nights.

Note: Guests will have time to purchase food at the Darwin airport and/or purchase in-flight snacks as the transit falls over the lunch period.

There’ll be no time to waste as you embark on the Mala Walk to Kantju Gorge at the foot of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Your guide will highlight the ancient rock art and traditional bush tucker of the Anangu, as well as the cultural and geologic significance of this site. Your view of the beautiful sunset will be from a special vantage point this evening followed by a BBQ dinner before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Overnight in Ayers Rock.

Wake up early to witness the sunrise at Uluru and see the desert come to life in the morning glow.

Following your sunrise experience, you will return to the hotel for breakfast before you visit Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is traditionally owned by the Anangu, one of the world’s oldest continuous societies. Admire its remarkable red rock formations of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas).

Lunch will be on your own and the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.

Tonight, experience ‘A Night at Field of Light’ dinner under the stars with sunset views of Uluru to begin your evening spectacle. This 3-course bush tucker inspired menu with premium wines will be enjoyed whilst overlooking the infamous Field of Light; 50,000 bulbs of colored light creating a vista of beauty that can only be appreciated in person.

Overnight in Ayers Rock.

Set your alarm for an early start as you check-out and depart from the hotel, with a boxed breakfast in hand, to Ayers Rock airport for your flight to Cairns.

Continue to your hotel for the next two nights where you can take some time to refresh and relax before reuniting with your group in the hotel lobby.

A short walk from the hotel, Cairns Aquarium will welcome you with open doors as you experience an exclusive after hour private visit. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine before your biology guide introduces you to the incredible biodiversity of Tropical North Queensland with 10 amazing North Queensland ecosystems and over 70 different habitats. Afterward, you’ll make your way to the Aquarium restaurant and watch beautiful the sea creatures in a 14-metre 70,000-litre marine exhibit while a delightful dinner is served.

Overnight in Cairns.

Indulge in one final breakfast before hotel check-out and an unforgettable experience on the Great Barrier Reef.

Your friendly crew will welcome you on-board your exclusive catamaran at the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal before you depart the marina for a day of water activities split between two unique sites, each showcasing a variety of colorful corals and marine life.

Snorkel over stunning coral gardens where anemones, sea whips, clams and plate corals are home to clown fish, angel fish and bat fish. Large schools of giant trevally, red bass and sweetlips congregate between the bommies, while turtles, cuttlefish, rays are frequently seen.

On your way out to your first reef location, you will be served morning tea. Once you arrive at your first outer reef location, you will be able to jump in and explore the under-water world. A delicious lunch will be served whist venturing to your second outer reef location.

On your way back to Cairns, relax with afternoon tea and reminisce your adventures with fellow travelers before you return to your ship.
