Board your air-conditioned transfer for a 25 minute drive through towns and villages on the island. Upon arrival to the South Shore Canopy site, you’ll be geared up with safety equipment, receive a safety briefing and then have your first photo opportunity. Once everyone is geared up and familiar with the safety regulations, you’re ready for your adventure. The longest run is 1,300 feet, the highest point is 100 feet, and the total line length is about 2 miles. The tour will take between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, after which you ‘ll have some free time for photos and souvenir shopping before heading back to the pier.

Fly between Cozumel and mainland Mexico in a helicopter for the ultimate sightseeing experience and explore the Mayan ruins at Tulum after landing. Once you take off, you will soon look down on attractions such as the Punta Sur lighthouse near the island’s southern tip and the adjacent El Cielo sandbar. Not long after crossing Cozumel Channel, you will touch down in Tulum. Although not the largest or most elaborate archaeological site on the Yucatan peninsula, Tulum may be the most beautiful. The Maya built the walled city of Tulum in the 11th century to control maritime commerce, and the city-state’s excavated temples and buildings are spectacular. As you meander about, you will see El Castillo – a cliffside tower that probably served as a landmark for sailors – and the Temple of Frescoes, an observatory used to track the sun’s movements. The building was once painted red and you can still see remnants of that hue.

It won’t take long to reach the private oasis, giving you all the more time to enjoy these unusual encounters. Stingrays are abundant there and quite willing for you to touch them. As you will discover by being so close to these graceful, diamond-shaped stingrays, they are used to human contact. You will also have the opportunity to touch starfish, conchs and sand dollars, so you can expect the interaction to be incredibly fulfilling. Perhaps even more surprising, you will be greeted by swimming pigs. The guides will show you how to maximize your time with these friendly porcine animals. They love attention so be ready for a fun and immersive experience as the pigs happily share their swimming hole. They may even follow you ashore to the observation deck that overlooks the sea. Feel free to explore the 5000 sq ft observation deck, visit the retail store for unique souvenirs, and access the bar with breathtaking views. Spend a fun-filled day at Xel-Ha, an aquatic theme park where you can enjoy activities such as river tubing, bicycling, snorkeling and soaring like a bird on the zip-line.

After departing from the pier, you will settle in for a scenic journey to Xel-Ha, a beautiful aquatic park in a large protected cove on the mainland. Centuries ago, the Maya created a trading center, pilgrimage site and shelter for sailors here. In the Mayan language, Xel-Ha means “where the water is born,” and it is still a fitting description.

In this natural wonderland, you will be free to participate in whatever activities interest you the most. You might ease into an inner tube and float down the Xel-Ha River. Along the way, you can pause on the riverside platforms and, if you are feeling adventurous, you can climb the Cliff of Courage and then jump off into the river.

Riding the zip-lines and then splashing down into the water is another exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping activity. You can also fly through the air on a rope swing named for the Mayan Guardian of the Air, Chuc Kay.

There are also plenty of activities that are less physically demanding. You might meander down a jungle trail, enjoy the serenity of Chacah’s Garden, and snorkel through the cove, which is teeming with marine life such as angelfish, snapper, turtles and even manatees. The day is yours to enjoy as you so fit, whether it’s being physically active or simply relaxing.

Cruise the winding Monkey River, looking for wildlife in the surrounding rainforest, and then enjoy a hike with a naturalist that will explain the plants' medicinal uses.

After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive at a small village near the mouth of the Monkey River, where you will begin a leisurely cruise upstream. Along the way, the guide will provide enlightening commentary about the region's history, including how the economy boomed in the late 19th century when large volumes of bananas were exported.

Little evidence of that thriving time period remains, as the meandering Monkey River is bordered by undeveloped rainforest. Natural beauty and remarkably diverse flora and fauna are now the main attractions.

You can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles sunning on the riverbanks, turtles popping their heads above the water's surface, and iguanas perched in the tree limbs. You might even spot a troop of black howler monkeys screeching in the forest.

Tropical birds are just as abundant along the river, especially wading birds such as herons, brightly colored tanagers and keel-billed toucans, the national bird of Belize. Toucans are easy to spot because of their large, colorful bills and how they croak like frogs.

Once you disembark, you will hike through the surrounding forest while the naturalist guide points out plants with medicinal qualities. For instance, leaves of the soursop are often brewed into a tea that reduces fever, and the wild yam has anti-inflammatory properties.

Enjoy an insider’s view of local chocolate and tequila production as a prelude to exploring the wonders underwater in a semi-submersible. At the Mayan Cacao Company, you will see how chocolate is made from cacao, a process that dates back to the ancient Mayas, who drank chocolate for ceremonial and medicinal purposes as far back as 500 BC. After sampling some creamy chocolate, you will proceed to Barriecito for a tequila tasting seminar for a tasting that will present the historical and cultural importance of tequila on the Yucatan peninsula. An entirely different perspective of Cozumel awaits you just offshore on Paradise Reef, where you will explore the underwater world in a semi-submersible. Although the vessel’s viewing windows are only a few feet below the water’s surface, the sights will be extraordinary. You can expect to see a riot of brilliantly colored fish and perhaps hawksbill turtles and green moray eels.

Enjoy a fun and exciting drive on your off-road safari jeep with wonderful views of Tortola and the surrounding islands from viewpoints that are not the typical tourist route. Your scenic drive around the island takes you through villages, on and off-roads and along coastal roadways.

Departing the cruise port, you will pass through Road Town before following a trail up to Ridge Road. There will be stops at various points for photo opportunities. Next, visit a beach and have a refreshing drink. Rinse the dust off with a swim in the sea, or relax on the white-sand beach before continuing back to the ship.

Race through the streets of downtown Cozumel with a group of fellow adventurers while solving riddles and following clues that will lead your team to the finish line. This fun, highly interactive experience is like a scavenger hunt and reality show come to life, in which you will be pitted against other competitive teams that are just as intent on being first. Along the way, you will have to use your wits to figure out the intentionally misleading clues at each destination while racing against the clock. Besides having a great time, you will visit places off the beaten path that few visitors to Cozumel ever see. There is no better way to really get a feel for the town and the local culture.
