Your tour will begin with a drive along Bryggen Hanseatic Quarters where the old wooden warehouses are now occupied by artists, shops and a variety of restaurants. You’ll continue through the city and suburbs, leading to Troldhaugen. This was the home of composer, Edvard Grieg for 22 years. Beautifully situated by the peaceful Nordasvannet Lake, Grieg composed many of his most famous works here.
Your next stop is at the Fantoft Stave Church. The old stave church, originally built in 1150, burned down in 1992, and is now rebuilt just as it was before the fire. On your way back, your coach will stop near the Fish and Flower Market in the center of the city for guests wanting to remain in town.
Need to Know:
Note: There is a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the Edvard Grieg museum on gravel road and a five minute walk each way to the church and 2 steps to enter. The footpaths in the garden are hilly.
