Journey into the impressive landscapes and virgin forests of Patagonia, be introduced to Chilean folklore and get a taste of local specialties. A short ride along a beautiful road takes you up to the Aiken del Sur Park. Unlimited natural beauty can be found here, such as the banks of the placid, transparent blue waters of Riesco Lake, covering an area of about 8 1/2 miles. Visit the small information center for an introduction to the area, and then take an approximately half mile stroll into Patagonian nature, ending at a beautiful cascade with a 72 foot drop.
See the native perennial forests with varietals such as humid ferns, moss and lichen. Endless prairies combining patriarchal myrtle and turf mingled with wild fuchsia, shrubbery, as well wet meadows, are some of the sights you’ll enjoy at the park. After your encounter with nature, you’ll drive to the park’s restaurant for a cocktail and tasty snack while a local dance group entertains you.
