Explore the highly restricted and preserved 116,000 acre Kahuku unit of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on this small-group adventure.

Start with a private tour and tasting at Bay View Farm specializing in 100% Kona Coffee since 1984 along with stunning views of Kealakekua Bay and the Captain Cook monument below. Stop at famed Painted Church whose interiors are covered in paintings and frescoes dating back to 1899. Reaching Kahuku, your National Park Service-trained guide will lead you on a hike past cinder cones, lava tree molds, and a hidden meadow with stands of old growth native trees.

Climb Pu’u o Lokuana cinder cone, complete with historic cinder quarry, sweeping views, and remnants of this areas plantation-era past. Continue on to Punalu’u Black Sand Beach and it’s resting giant green sea turtles, and Punalu’u Bakery, the southern-most bakery in the US before returning to Kona. Picnic-style lunch included along the way.
