Follow in Captain Cook’s footsteps on this small-group excursion.

Tour begins with a private tour and taste at a Kona coffee farm with spectacular views of Kealakekua Bay where Captain Cook finally met his demise. Briefly stop at the famous Painted Church to view its interior decorated with paintings and frescoes in 1899. Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park, casually known as “place of refuge”, was where ancient Hawaiians could be absolved of law-breaking offenses. If they made it here alive.

Your National Park Service-certified guide will walk you through this 420 acre Park with temple platforms, fishponds, and other remnants of ancient life in Hawaii. Next, take to the seas on a high-speed Zodiac-style powerboat. Explore sea caves and lava tubes along the Kona coast on the way to Kealakekua Bay where you’ll experience snorkeling ranked among the best in Hawaii. Picnic-style lunch included along the way.
