SHORE EXCURSIONS

Combine all the highlights of West Maui on this comprehensive excursion: Iao Valley, Maui Tropical Plantation and the Maui Ocean Center. You'll start with a visit to the most well-known and beautiful gorge on the ‘Valley Isle,’ the Iao Valley. Here, you'll visit one of Maui's most striking sights, the Iao Needle, a 2,250-foot cinder cone pinnacle that pierces through the clouds and dominates its lush surroundings. Next, stop at Maui Tropical Plantation, where you'll enjoy a fully narrated 40-minute tram tour through macadamia nut orchards, agricultural villages, sugar cane fields and flower gardens. Then at the Maui Ocean Center, experience the underwater journey that gives you an up-close look at some of the beautiful creatures only found in Hawaii's waters.

Sit back and appreciate all the sights along the famed Hana Highway without having to navigate the curves yourself. Travel over one-lane bridges and along the winding Road to Hana in the air-conditioned comfort of an exclusive 8-passenger luxury Limo-Van, featuring all Captain's chair seating.

Relax and take in the incredible scenery of lava cliffs, sparkling waterfalls, lush hillsides of feathery ferns, and trees laden with tropical fruit. You'll have plenty of photo opportunities and time to explore, with many stops made along this spectacular coastal drive.

Experience the Ke'anae Peninsula, one of the last enclaves of native Hawaiians, offering splendid tranquil taro fields and a stop for a light morning snack. It's also the perfect place for you to learn about the native Hawaiian people, their culture, and the land they call home. See Waikani Falls, a cascade of fresh mountain rainwater. This full-day tour includes an alfresco picnic-style lunch at a Hana beach park. After lunch, guests delight in discovering Wai'anapanapa State Park, with numerous unique scenic features. Stroll on the black sand beach, photograph lava sea arches, or view beautiful lava formations. The return journey offers an optional swim to take a dip in a freshwater pool under a cascading waterfall, so bring your swimsuit underneath your clothes and a towel for - a perfect "Heavenly Hana" experience. An opportunity to swim at either Pua'a Ka'a ( waterfall ) or Waianapanapa ( black sand beach ) but not both, is offered to guests. The optional swimming opportunity is determined based on safety conditions.

With an expert driver at the wheel, you won’t miss any of the incredible scenery of lava cliffs, tumbling waterfalls, the rugged northern coastline, lush hillsides of feathery ferns and trees laden with tropical fruits. You’ll stop to explore various sites along the way to "Heavenly Hana," in this wonderfully natural and pristine landscape. This tour goes to Hana and returns on the same route. A box lunch is included at the start of the tour.

Come aboard as we depart from Ma'alaea Harbor aboard one of our extremely stable, 65 ft., double deck, powered catamarans and head out to our first snorkel site, world-famous Molokini Crater. Maui's iconic crescent-shaped islet is a beautiful reef known for its crystal-clear waters, abundant coral, colorful fish and resting seabirds. A protected marine conservation area, this volcanic crater is only accessible by boat with a certified tour operator. You'll snorkel about an hour at Molokini and then head to your second snorkel site, Turtle Arches, with its underwater lava formations and frequent green sea turtle sightings. Your tour will be led by our certified Marine Naturalists who have a love for our oceans and will educate you about what you'll be witnessing throughout your trip. If sea conditions make either Molokini or Turtle Arches unsafe, our captains will utilize their experience to select the best possible alternative sites. Sometimes that may mean snorkeling the entire time at Molokini or substituting the Turtle Arches site for another spot know for green sea turtle populations.

Check out Maui’s massive Haleakala volcano from bottom to top, as you journey from sea level to the summit to view spectacular island scenery and the immense crater of volcanic rock. You can catch a glimpse of Haleakala, Maui’s massive dormant volcano, from almost any point on the island, but you will go all the way to the top on this scenic journey – from sea level to 10,000 feet. At the summit is a vast crater seven and a half miles long by two and a half miles wide, and 3,000 feet deep. It last erupted in 1790 and has slumbered ever since, though that does not mean it won’t one day wake up. The Hawaiians revere it as a sacred site, and tell tales of Pele, Goddess of Fire and Volcanos.

The views from the top are magnificent. If the day is clear, you may even make out two other towering peaks – Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island. From the crater’s rim, you'll be able to appreciate first hand the unique beauty of this imposing caldera with its interesting mix of volcanic rock and plant life, some of which, like the silversword plant, is found only in Hawaii's volcanic craters.

OVERVIEW

Discover the natural beauty and quirkiness of the island’s North Shore through vastly different and revealing experiences. While browsing the boutiques in the former sugar plantation town of Pa’ia, you will get a genuine sense of its laid-back, bohemian ambiance. The shops tend to be colorful, somewhat eclectic and full of merchandise that you won’t find elsewhere as it is often made locally. A leisurely one-mile walk through a nearby rainforest will bring you to two waterfalls, one of them is Twin Falls, a gorgeous cascade that plummets into a serene pool where you may swim if you wish. The setting couldn’t be more relaxing or picturesque. The beauty of Ho’okipa Beach Park is equally captivating, especially the scene offshore as this is a premier spot for surfing and windsurfing because the waves are well-formed and sometimes reach heights of 30 feet. The beach is also one of the best places to see green sea turtles.

Spend hours relaxing at one of Maui's most beautiful beaches, Wailea Beach. With a short journey through the center of the Valley Isle, which offers you all the more time to enjoy the generous beach activities (not including pool & hot tub areas) and oceanfront views. You might stretch out on a Tommy Bahama® lounge chair and bask in the sun, stroll along the crescent-shaped coast without a care in the world and take a refreshing swim in the typically calm sea. The ocean bottom at Wailea drops off gently, encouraging those who wish to do nothing more than wade into the water while it gently laps the shore. The beach often ranks among the world’s best for its fine-grained sand and idyllic setting. If you are feeling more ambitious, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and stand-up paddleboards are available at special rates. You are also welcome to dine on your own in any of the resort restaurants.

After departing the pier, you’ll take in the highlights of the island’s spectacular north shore, beginning with Makawao town, where you can still see remnants of this historic hamlet’s paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) storied past. Today, Makawao is known more as a thriving arts community. You’ll visit a local gallery displaying a wide array of works by Hawai’i’s most renowned artists, and the studio and shop of one of Maui’s foremost artisans. Enjoy a relaxing, sit-down lunch at a charming café before heading to Ho’olawa Valley, where Maui’s artists often visit for inspiration. You’ll soon understand why when you take a guided nature walk with a leading naturalist. Your destination is an idyllic waterfall overlook in the rainforest. Along the way you’ll learn about the valley’s indigenous flora and fauna. To complement the experience, you’ll enjoy a sampling of fruits and vegetables important in native Hawaiian culture. The last stop is the lovely Ho’okipa scenic lookout, where some of the best waves in Hawai‘i, and frequently green Hawaiian sea turtles (honu), are found. While pausing for photos, you can expect to see surfers riding the waves.

This tour is available for prebooking’s only. Soar high above the gorgeous northern shore of Maui in a helicopter and land in a rainforest for a closer look at the tropical landscape. You will fly over thundering waterfalls, the famed windsurfing setting at Ho’okipa Beach, and the mega-surf break at Pe’ahi, a spot with such monstrous swells that it is nicknamed “Jaws.” Many of the locations are so remote that they can only be observed from the air, as there are no roads, only dense jungle and precipitous cliffs. One such site is Keopuka Rock, a steep sliver of an island known as Jurassic Rock because it was featured in the opening sequence of the movie “Jurassic Park.” In time, you will land in a rainforest clearing and toast the experience with a glass of champagne. The landscape there is blanketed with banana trees, papayas, pineapples and lilkoi, a colorful passion flower that grows on a vine.
