    Virgin Gorda & The Baths

    Enjoy hours of free time at the exceptionally photogenic, boulder-strewn beach in The Baths National Park on nearby Virgin Gorda. Take an approximately 45 minute cruise along the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda. Even the ride there will be exhilarating, as you will travel to the island via ferryboat following a picturesque sea route through Sir Francis Drake Channel. On arrival, open safari buses take you on an approximately 15 minute drive through Spanish Town to The Baths for a self-guided tour. Then, it’s on to the naturally beautiful beach, which is littered with a jumble of massive granite boulders that form grottoes and dramatically illuminated tidal pools beneath the stacks of massive boulders. These unique rock formations reveal the volcanic origins of Virgin Gorda, which means Fat Virgin. Christopher Columbus supposedly named the island for its profile, which resembles a rotund woman lying on her side. Travel along the trails and boulders to discover hidden caves and sea pools.


    Need to Know:

    Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age. Walking on this tour is strenuous as the footpath to reach The Baths is rough and uneven. Footpaths and the rocks may be slippery at times, depending on the weather conditions. Please make yourself aware of the beach flag warning system and always adhere to it. Expect crowds, waiting in line to go through the Cave to The Bath, rough seas at certain times of the year and high temperatures. Not recommended for people with any walking difficulties or any health issues. This tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Participants should be in good physical condition. Bathing suits should be worn under a cover-up and guests should bring their own towel.     Escape To Jost Van Dyke

    Cruise over to White Bay on nearby Jost Van Dyke, the ultimate beach paradise for sunbathing and simply relaxing. Walk a few steps from the pier to the tender dock, where you'll board a motorized catamaran. The cruise to neighboring Jost Van Dyke lasts about 45-50 minutes and is incredibly scenic, as you'll pass several classic Caribbean islands, including St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This excursion is all about enjoying the thrill of the outdoors, an ideal combination of an invigorating cruise, an idyllic beach and Caribbean ambiance. Sit back and enjoy the views to port and starboard of this island archipelago en route to your first stop, White Bay on Jost Van Dyke. The catamaran will nose up to the beach to allow you to step ashore on one of the British Virgin Islands most magnificent beaches. You’ll find yourself in paradise with crystal clear blue waters lapping at a picture perfect white sand beach fringed by palm trees On White Bay, you'll have a full 3 hours ashore to enjoy the sugar-white beach, lounge in a hammock strung between two palm trees, sunbathe or go swimming. To round out your escape to Jost Van Dyke, the crew will supply you with a glass of fruit or rum punch on the return leg to the cruise pier.     The Baths At Virgin Gorda Adventure

    OVERVIEW

    Cruise the ferry over to the neighboring island of Virgin Gorda to relax on the beaches at The Baths, a unique seascape dominated by enormous boulders that form hidden grottoes and tidal pools. After disembarking on the island, you will enjoy a short but scenic ride to the Top of the Baths restaurant, where the guide will explain what to expect along the coast below. You will descend by following a sandy trail to horseshoe-shaped Devil’s Bay, whose translucent waters are ideal for a refreshing swim. Gargantuan boulders spill out from the beach into the sea, making for an unforgettable experience. In time, the guide will lead you through the massive seaside boulders to The Baths, a similar but more popular beach. You may find the setting even more spectacular as many of its granite boulders measure more than 40 feet across. There too you will be free to do as you please.

    Note: Participants must be fit and at least 8 years of age and weigh no more than 250 lbs. Expect crowds, waiting in line to go through the Cave to The Bath, rough seas at certain times of the year and high temperatures. Participants will explore trails leading to beaches and through giant rocks, requiring caution. When the red flag is flying at The Baths, swimming is strictly prohibited due to dangerous sea conditions, including rip currents and high seas. In such cases the tour will operate but swimming will not be permitted. A flag warning system is in place to monitor sea conditions, and if the red flag is displayed, swimming will not be permitted. The trail to and from the beaches is over 300 yards long, inclined, and consists of a natural surface with rocks, loose stones, and areas requiring stepping over rocks. The trail through the Caves involves bending, climbing wooden ladders, wading through sea pools, and stepping on wet, slippery rocks. Sturdy footwear is recommended for safety. This activity is not suitable for individuals with walking difficulties, and wheelchairs or child buggies are not permitted. Additionally, swimming beyond the safety line in front of both beaches is strictly prohibited. Participants assume all risks associated with this activity.

    Tortola Canopy Tour And Scenic Drive

    Board your private transportation for a journey through Road Town. Drive along Ridge Road with amazing views over the north coast of the island. After a brief photo stop to view the islands of Guana, Great Camanoe and Anegada, you’ll drive westward to the Original Virgin Canopy Tour base camp. After a quick restroom break, the friendly staff will outfit you with your gear. Following a brief orientation and safety talk, you’ll arrive at the take-off point of the tour. The tour has been expertly designed for adventurers of all ages (from 5 to 95) and every stop along the way provides you with an amazing "I can't believe I just did that" photo opportunity that you will want to share with friends and loved ones.


    The tour including the outfitting and safety talk and the 7 traverse and other challenge components, will take approximately 1 to 1 1/4 hours, depending on group size and other factors. One element of the tour includes a 1 1/2 story climb (21 steps) up an inclined ladder – but don’t worry, you are attached all the way. Following the tour you can enjoy some refreshments or snacks (not included in the price), shop for souvenirs or just relax and take in the wonderful view from the patio before you board the bus.     Snorkeling At Norman Island

    Your boat will take you across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island where you’ll snorkel The Caves or The Indians. You are guaranteed to see beautiful corals and sponges, plentiful fish, and perhaps a turtle or ray will swim by and visit. After your snorkel, step ashore on to Norman Island. Snorkel on a smaller nearby reef, wander ashore and explore the beach or hunt for treasure.     Treasure Island Sail, Beach & Snorkel

    Sail to an uninhabited island that supposedly inspired the setting of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel “Treasure Island” and snorkel the crystal-clear waters that surround it. You will sail in comfort on board the Soul Rebel, a 50-foot catamaran that will cut across Sir Francis Drake Channel to ruggedly beautiful Norman Island. The snorkeling here is spectacular, and the underwater wonders include colorful marine life such as doctorfish tangs, queen triggerfish and ocean surgeonfish. You may even catch sight of a spotted eagle ray gracefully gliding by.


    You will also have the opportunity to snorkel/swim off Pirate’s Bight, another gorgeous part of the island. Or you may simply relax on the powdery beach that makes this a favorite spot for enjoying the tropical scenery. If you are feeling a bit more ambitious, you might beachcomb along the shore and swim in the sea before sailing back to Road Town.
