    It is off to the historic and magnificent White Pass Train adventure. From an antique parlor car, enjoy the incredible scenery while your tour guide shares the stories and history of the Klondike Gold Rush. Upon reaching Fraser, British Columbia board your motorcoach and take a short trip to the Yukon Suspension Bridge. Then it’s time to experience the country that you heard about! Breathe pristine air, taste wild berries in season, hear the roar of raging white water and thrill to the sensations of a swaying walkway over 60 feet above the rapids.


    There are Tagish First Nation Staff and Elders to answer questions about the site. A variety of First Nations art pieces and crafts are available for purchase, as well. After your experience at the Yukon Suspension Bridge, you’ll continue on your motorcoach for the journey down the west side of the White Pass Canyon. Listen as your driver/guide entertains you with stories of the stampeders who trekked through the pass in search of gold. You’ll see picturesque points such as Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls as you head back to your ship.

    Your tour begins as you board a high-speed catamaran for a scenic 45-minute cruise to Haines down North America’s longest and deepest fjord. Along the way, you’ll witness spectacular views of waterfalls and ice-sculpted peaks as your guide helps you search for marine wildlife. Upon arrival in Haines, you’ll meet your guide and board our bus. Prior to heading up the scenic Haines byway on our 22 mile drive up the Chilkat Valley to the native village of Klukwan, we’ll explore historic Fort Seward by bus. Fort Seward is one of the first US military bases in Alaska and its picturesque parade grounds and historic buildings offer a unique insight to life in Haines during the early 1900’s.


    After a 40-minute scenic drive through the Chilkat Valley and Bald Eagle Preserve, you’ll come to Klukwan, “Eternal Village” of the Chilkat people. The Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve hosts some of the largest concentrations of bald eagles in the world.


    You will gain intimate, in depth, exposure to the traditional lifestyle of the Chilkat people as their friendly and knowledgeable hosts walk you through the Traditional Knowledge Camp. This guided walk includes a visit to the traditional Adze Shed where their 37-foot dug-out “Heen Yakgaheiyagoo Yaakw” (Water Spirit Canoe) is stored and a short visit to the traditional smokehouse. Our visit to the Camp culminates in the Tlingit plank style, clan house, “Kaaya Haayi Hit,” with storytelling and interpretation of its totemic artworks. Presenters will share traditional songs and drumming that highlight their cultural heritage.


    Our next stop is the, newly opened, state of the art, museum-quality center. The Heritage Center provides entrance to the Chilkat’s distinctive ethnic landscape with exhibits on their subsistence way of living, the Brown Bear Clan House, their legacy of Chilkat weaving, and more. Your native host will guide you through the educational exhibits and will share their personal experiences and insights along the way. Your visit to the Heritage Center culminates at the Whale Clan House of the Gaanaxteidi where the world-famous collection of four totems and the Rain wall screen are displayed.


    Next, is a short stop at the gift shop, where you can shop for local arts and native crafts.


    Before departing Klukwan for our return journey back towards Haines, we will enjoy a picnic lunch while overlooking the glacially fed waters of the Chilkat River.


    Once your visit to Klukwan is wrapped up we’ll board our bus for the drive back to Haines. Upon our arrival in Haines, we will board the ferry for our return trip to Skagway.

    From your ship, make your way to Alaska 360's Dredge Town, located on the Skagway River. Upon arrival, the mushers will take you into their theater and narrate a short film about the Iditarod Race and the history of Alaskan sled dogs. Then it's on to the mushers' checkpoint to see and learn about all the equipment and skill it takes to race competitively. Finally, you will get to meet the team! The dogs are friendly and excited to show off their skills as they are hooked up and do a demonstration run. When they are finished, you'll get to meet the puppies and hold and cuddle them. You will even get to feel the cold of the race in our 40-below experience.


    Your tour continues with a humorous and educational show that teaches gold panning. Test your skills with a pan of paydirt in our heated troughs. Gold is guaranteed. When you are finished, go to our Assayers' Office and have your gold weighed to see how much money you made. Next, board a coach and travel to the White Pass and Yukon Railroad where a private car awaits. Your special costumed guide will accompany you, helping during the ride, providing a toast at the summit, a snack, games, stories, and contests to enhance the beautiful ride to the border where all the prospectors of 1898 stopped on their way to the gold fields.


    Afterwards, return to your ship knowing that you've had a full Alaska 360 experience.

    Your experience begins onboard a comfortable mini-bus whose large picture windows afford spectacular views as you travel through Skagway and north along the Klondike Highway up through the West White Pass in the St. Elias Range. This is the highest coastal range in the world, and one of North America's most scenic mountain roads. Your guide will tell a century’s worth of White Pass stories, and there are plenty of landmarks along the way including Dead Horse Trail, the old Brackett Wagon Road, Pitchfork Falls and Moore Bridge. Photo opportunities of numerous glaciers and peaks abound.


    Upon arrival at Fraser, British Columbia, you’ll board a vintage narrow gauge railcar for your trip aboard the world famous White Pass & Yukon Railroad. The train takes you through the opposite side of the Pass, and down the other side of the canyon, with new breathtaking panoramas of mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls back down the grade to Skagway.

Kick off your visit with what we like to call a “Musher Talk.” We have been sharing our passion for dog sledding for years, and in that time we have gathered up the most frequently asked questions about the sport. In the Musher Talk, we will share the fascinating answers and welcome any additional questions you may have. Of course, we make sure you have plenty of time to play with our puppies! Your affections actually socialize these future athletes, which is essential to their racing success.

    Learn about modern sled dog racing and Gold Rush history at the Klondike Gold Fields. Meet an authentic musher, who will provide a video presentation that introduces dogs of the Klondike Gold Rush and highlights winter runs of today. See the gear that is used for long distance races. You’ll meet the team and watch the musher hook them up to a sled for a demonstration run. Afterwards, guests are invited to interact with the dogs and hold the puppies.


    Layer up and enter the cold chamber to see and feel the effects of extreme cold in the 40 Below Experience. Seasoned prospectors will give you time to warm back up and then provide an entertaining lesson on gold panning techniques.
