Richard Ambrose

Senior Vice President, Entertainment and Cruise Programs

Richard Ambrose is Senior Vice President of Entertainment and Cruise Programs for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., overseeing the departments for Entertainment and Cruise Programs across the Company’s three award-winning brands, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Ambrose joined Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. in 2007 and championed the Company’s entertainment operations overhaul, transitioning entertainment programming and production in-house, creating the Norwegian Creative Studios in Tampa, Fla. where shows featured on all three cruise brands are rehearsed prior to debuting at sea.

Prior to joining the Company, Ambrose was international development director and creative producer for The Imagination House, a full-service creative production company located in Orlando, Fla. Ambrose’s former client list at The Imagination House included major brands such as Sandals/Beaches Resorts; Universal Studios Osaka, Japan; Dubai Shopping Center; and the Gatlinburg Tourist Bureau, among others. 

Ambrose also held the role of senior creative producer for Disney Cruise Line, producing most of the company's theatrical and character shows including, "The Golden Mickey's," "Twice Charmed," and the line's "Pirates in the Caribbean" deck party, which included the introduction of a 10-minute fireworks show launched from the ships. Prior to Disney Cruise Line, Ambrose was production manager and international project director for many Broadway and touring shows including "Smokey Joe's Café," "Jolson, The Musical," and Lincoln Center's production of "Anything Goes."

Ambrose has been in the entertainment industry since he was a child, filming many television commercials and later performing on Broadway and many national and international tours. 

He received an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird: The School of International Management and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The American University in Washington, D.C.
