Its collection of plants and ancient creatures preserved in fossilized tree sap, known as amber, is extraordinary. The Luperón House Museum contains photos and personal effects that celebrate the achievements of national hero General Gregorio Luperón. For a perspective of present-day Puerto Plata, you can meander through popular Central Park, browse the artisan shops that line the atmospheric streets and amble down the Pink Alley, a monochromatic walkway where everything is painted bright pink.

Spend hours luxuriating at Sol y Mar, an exclusive beach club where everything you could possibly need for an exceptional experience is included. Upon arriving at the waterfront resort, you will be free to do whatever you please, a liberating thought considering all the options. You might stretch out on a lounge chair and bask in the sun, stroll the lengthy private beach without a care in the world, and relax in the shade of a towering coconut palm or under a thatched palapa. Chances are, you will want to take a refreshing swim in the turquoise sea as the waves gently lap the shore. The ambiance is completely laid-back at Sol y Mar, a name that appropriately translates to “sun and sea.” An island-style buffet lunch is also included, and you can order burgers and hotdogs from the grill anytime. Whether you are a zipline novice or aficionado, satisfy your need for speed and adventure when you fly and experience the adrenaline-filled ziplines. You’ll be met at the keeper’s house, located at the base of the Flighthouse by the flight crew who will provide you with a safety orientation, assist with your equipment selection and fitting and a technical flight briefing covering the upcoming flight mission. Once outfitted and briefed, you’ll be transported up to your designated flight deck via the Flighthouse elevator where your adventure begins. Here, perched over 100 feet in the air you will experience the wind gusts as you soar 100 feet above the Manatee Lagoon. Consists of three zips crisscrossing Harvest Caye. Each zip is long enough for you feel the rush and enjoy the sensation.

To enhance the thrill and excitement we have added an elevated suspension net bridge. Allowing you a bird’s eye view of guests below or to search the horizon and take in panoramic views of the Mayan Mountains on the mainland or the turquoise waters of the outer reefs.

OVERVIEW

Release your inner adventurer by participating in four different outdoor experiences, each one uniquely exhilarating and sure to raise goosebumps. The thrills will begin in earnest with a breathtaking ride on the Sky Explorer, a state-of-the-art chairlift that will carry you up the forested slopes of the Mystic Mountain eco-adventure park. At the top of the 700-foot peak, you will race through the tree canopy on a series of ziplines. Feel free to scream as there will never be a dull moment. Next up is the Ragamuffin, an inverted roller coaster that twists and turns and takes you out over a tropical landscape that couldn’t be more beautiful. The third adrenaline-pumping experience will be racing through the rainforest in a high-speed bobsled inspired by the one that Jamaica’s Olympians rode in the 1988 Winter Olympics. A Jamaican-style boxed lunch follows, after which you will descend Mystic Mountain on the Sky Explorer.

Visit the landmarks in and around Ocho Rios and Saint Ann’s Bay that best reflect their histories before heading to a tropical resort for an inspired tasting of Jamaican rums. The highlights that you will see along the way include a Christopher Columbus monument, a statue of locally born Pan-African leader Marcus Garvey and the Spanish-style Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The natural beauty on the outskirts of town is equally captivating as you will discover while gazing out over the lush countryside from the High View Point lookout and driving through Fern Gully. Jamaica is also known for its rum, which has long been intertwined with the culture of the island. It tends to be exceptionally aromatic and flavorful as you will discover while sampling a selection of premium rums at Reggae Hill. If time permits, you might swim in the White River and stop for a bit of shopping.

Your journey begins as you board your air-conditioned transportation at the pier and head to downtown Puerto Vallarta for a walking tour that includes a brief visit to the popular Malecón boardwalk with statues by renowned Mexican artists, the zocalo, City Hall and the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Afterwards, travel to a local tile factory where you'll get a fascinating introduction to the production of colorful Mexican tiles. See how they are formed, painted and fired. You'll also find plenty of shopping opportunities, as the main floor of the factory has myriad of vibrant ceramics to choose from.

We'll stop at a local plaza for some souvenir shopping before heading to the next venue on your journey: one of the finest tequila producers in the area. At this Hacienda, learn the craft used to turn the blue agave cactus into Mexico's powerful and legendary tequila. Sample the tequila and take a tour of the tequila making process. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional farm-to-table rancho lunch, including tacos with handmade corn tortillas and regional salsas. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore the grounds and complete your shopping.

OVERVIEW

See the natural wonders of Grand Cayman that lie below the water’s surface, along the coast and inland and come away with an understanding of the island’s many charms. For a look at the teeming marine life that inhabits the coral reefs, you will glide through the sea in an air-conditioned Nautilus semi-submersible submarine. The Osprey traverse gets its name from the bird of prey that is commonly seen perched on our decks and consist of 3 easy flights. The first flight south is the shortest traverse at 185 feet; it is also the tallest at 120 feet above the ground. We said it was easy, we didn’t say it wouldn’t be scary!

Start the second flight by be stepping off the platform 75-feet above the ground to soar some 850 feet to next landing perched just 75 feet above the ground.

Ascending a series of stairs takes you up to your launching pad for the final 900-foot zip to ground level back to where it all started.

At these heights the air is fresher, the colors are brighter, and the ground has never been so sweet.

This completely unique tour could easily be the highlight of your trip. Just imagine traveling down the tracks of the first transcontinental railroad in a comfortable domed railcar, while viewing what is widely considered to be the 8th wonder of the world; the Panama Canal, as well as spectacular Gatun Lake and the extraordinarily beautiful flora and fauna of the surrounding countryside. Adding to all of that, the unrivaled experience of traveling from one ocean to another, crossing the amazing continent of the Americas in just over one hour!

The Panama Railroad was the brainchild of a group of New York Financiers who wanted to create an easy passage for the increasing gold rush traffic. The railroad took five years and eight million dollars to build and was completed in 1855. During its first 12 years of operation, the train carried over 750 million dollars’ worth of gold and silver and collected one-quarter of one percent of each shipment as duty. The railroad was rebuilt in 1909 during the construction of the Panama Canal, and without it, the canal could not have been built.

Your journey will begin with a short coach transfer from the pier in Amador to the Pacific side railroad station where you will board the train for your approximately 75-minute rail journey. As you travel through the lush tropical rainforest, your location from high atop your glass-domed car will give you an outstanding panoramic view of the passing scenery and there is a good chance you'll sight some Howler monkeys, colorful toucans or other exotic wildlife. Crossing the Continental Divide, you'll find yourself on the Atlantic side, where you will disembark the train.

From here, it's a short coach transfer to Aqua Clara or the Expansion Locks. It will truly seem as if the mammoth ships passing through the locks are a mere arm's length away. Following your time at the Locks, you will re-board your coach and transfer back to the pier in Amador.

Depart the Port of Miami in your air-conditioned motorcoach with a knowledgeable guide to explore the diversity of Miami and neighboring cities. Drive over the MacArthur causeway past the private residential islands of Star Island and Fisher Island - home to Gloria Estefan, Naomi Campbell and many other well-known faces, to visit South Beach, which has the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world. Marvel at the new home of 'The New World Symphony' considered by many to be one of the greatest works of world famous architect Frank Gehry.

Drive along Brickell Ave. in downtown Miami - the second largest financial center in the USA to charming and laid back Coconut Grove, once the home base of Pan Am. Continue to 'The City Beautiful' - Coral Gables, an upmarket residential area with multi-million dollar homes, the home campus of the University of Miami and the landmark Biltmore Hotel. On the way to the airport drive past the area now known as Little Havana where many Cuban refugees first settled after the 1956 revolution.
