This Jet Boat Odyssey is truly the journey full of adventure while gaining knowledge and understanding along the way.

Beginning in Skagway, you will meet your representative on the pier to start the journey. First by a Catamaran ferry, setting sail to the port of Haines while taking in the breathtaking scenery along the way. The waterway that you will be on is the longest and deepest Fjord in North America, with mountains that rise straight up from the ocean, to heights of 6,000 feet.

Reaching the port of Haines, you will meet your driver, who will take you on the second leg of the journey, venturing north for your 45 minute narrated drive along the Chilkat River on the Haines Scenic Byway. You will arrive at the Jet Boat Facility, where all the amenities are available, such as modern and sparkling clean bathroom facilities. This is where your river Captains await, anxious to prepare you for the Jet Boat Odyssey, where they love to share their knowledge and enthusiasm about this valley that you are going to explore. This adventure will take you into the roadless portion of the Bald Eagle Preserve, in search of wildlife in the true Alaska Wilderness. Along the river journey, keep a watchful eye for moose, bears, eagles, swans and many other species of animals that call this area of the valley, their home. After exploring the many channels of the glacial fed river, you will return to the jet boat landing where all facilities are available. Before boarding the bus for your return trip, you will receive a box lunch to enjoy along the way, retracing your steps back to Skagway, by motor coach and ferry. After a briefing to ensure that you maximize the experience, you will ease into a kayak and follow the guide into the crescent-shaped bay. From there, you will have an excellent view of Hilo’s urban landscape, which sprawls along the coast and up into the flanks of the volcanoes. The guide will point out and describe Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano that is the highest point in Hawaii. Then there is Mauna Loa, the world’s largest volcano. Drive up to the perfectly formed lava ring and crater of Stóra Eldborg, formed almost 3,000 years ago. Here, you’ll take an invigorating hike up the steep hillside of the crater to the top. Enjoy the great views of the surrounding landscape from this vantage viewpoint. Then drive onwards to reach the starting point of your hike to the lava cave, hidden in the lunar-like landscape. Your guide will locate the entrance to the cave and you’ll gear up with mandatory safety equipment before embarking on a journey into the mysterious depths of the Icelandic underworld.

Back on your super truck, follow the road to the bubbling hot springs and fumaroles of Krysuvik. Here, the striking landscape has been shaped by volcanic eruptions and violent movements of the earth. In this geothermal field, powerful jets of steam escape from deep below the earth’s crust and multicolored pools of boiling mud bubble and pop continuously. Then, head to the fishing village of Grindavik where you’ll you’ll stop for a light lunch, of warm fish-soup, bread & coffee/tea.

Embark on a once in a lifetime adventure discovering the volcanic environs of the Reykjanes Peninsula. Board your transportation for a visit to the lava ring/crater of Stóra Eldborg “Big Fire City”. Here, you’ll take an invigorating trek up the steep flanks of the crater, enjoying breathtaking views of the lunar-like surroundings on your way up to the top. Next, take a short drive to a lava-tube caving experience. Walk over spongy moss and uneven ground, your guide will locate the almost undetectable cave entrance via GPS.

Gear up with obligatory safety helmets, grab your high beam torch and embark on a journey into the mysterious depths of the Icelandic underworld. Following your lava cave exploration, your next stop is a visit to the bubbling hot springs and fumaroles at the high temperature thermal field of Krýsuvík. This is located in the middle of the fissure zone which traverses Iceland. Following your visit, it’s time to head to the nearby fishing village of Grindavik where fish-soup, bread & coffee/tea awaits. It’s now time to put the so-called Super Truck to the test by way of a rough track that leads to the top of a nearby mountain overlooking the famous Blue Lagoon Thermal Spa.

Spend the day in paradise hiking with Hawaii's "Eco Tour Company of the Year” through the lush rainforest along streams punctuated by waterfalls from 10 to 40 feet high, each spilling into a large pool perfect for swimming or toe dipping. It’s unusual for a Hawaiian valley to have this many cascades so close together, making this a very desirable spot along Maui’s famous Hana Highway.

This hiking company is well known for their knowledgeable, naturalist guides, who provide a fascinating narrative on Hawaii's unique ecosystems. The hike is two miles round-trip and footing can be tricky in the forest.

Board your private transportation for a journey through Road Town. Drive along Ridge Road with amazing views over the north coast of the island. After a brief photo stop to view the islands of Guana, Great Camanoe and Anegada, you’ll drive westward to the Original Virgin Canopy Tour base camp. After a quick restroom break, the friendly staff will outfit you with your gear. Following a brief orientation and safety talk, you’ll arrive at the take-off point of the tour. The tour including the outfitting and safety talk and the 7 traverse and other challenge components, will take approximately 1 to 1 1/4 hours, depending on group size and other factors. Discover the Hawaii that British explorer Captain James Cook knew when he arrived in 1778, much of it in the shadow of Mauna Loa volcano. While touring the appropriately named Bay View Farm, which offers a beautiful view of Kealakekua Bay, you will see how the farm grows, harvests, and roasts Kona coffee beans. A sampling will confirm why the coffee that flourishes in the rich volcanic soil is so revered. Nearby stands Pu’uhonua, a spiritual site where criminals once sought refuge and absolution from Hawaiian priests. While browsing the grounds, you will see temple platforms and the remains of other structures that were intact in Captain Cook’s time. A high-speed Zodiac-style raft will bring you to an obelisk marking the spot where Cook was killed following a dispute with the Hawaiians that lived on the bay. Feel free to swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters.

Explore the pastel-colored town of Lerici as a prelude to cruising around the islands in the surrounding Bay of La Spezia. Although a medieval castle dominates Lerici, there is much more to see, including the 13th-century Oratory of San Rocco and former Jewish quarter. The narrow streets are wonderfully atmospheric with fine shops characteristic of the Italian Riviera. In time, you will board a private boat for an enlightening cruise around the bay, which is also known as Poet’s Gulf in reference to Lerici once being a celebrated enclave for poets and writers. Lord Byron, Percy and Mary Shelley and D.H. Lawrence were all inspired by the setting. You will be treated to close-up views of the islands Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto in the bay’s westernmost part. UNESCO deemed them and the neighboring town of Portovenere a World Heritage site for their scenic and cultural value. You will discover Portovenere’s other charms during free time there.

Zip through the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea on a jet ski and then relax on a beautiful bayside beach. The adventure will begin in Cavtat, a resort city tucked along a serene crescent-shaped bay in southern Croatia. After a brief orientation on how to maximize your time on the water, you will tear off into the sea on a two-person jet ski. Whether you drive or sit back and relax as a passenger, it will be an exhilarating experience the entire time. The bay is extraordinarily picturesque as numerous islands dot the waterscape, and you will have the opportunity to race through the waters off three of the finest—Mrkan, Bobara and Supetar. These rock-rimmed islands are heavily forested and sparsely populated, making them all the more visually stunning. In time, you will return to Cavtat to enjoy free time on the beach where you picked up your jet ski.

Once you reach the village, stop for a short rest at a traditional coffee shop before continuing on to another village.

The foothills of Mount Pantokrator offer stunning views of the inner plains of the island, which stretch out below you. Through a narrow paved alley, you’ll reach the picturesque village of Saint Marcos, an old Venetian settlement with carefully restored stone built houses and a Byzantine chapel. Everybody loves friendly Rays! Enjoy two great ray activities -a personal encounter plus shore-side snorkeling. Then relax and have fun at a private shore club with its resident, friendly critters, and water trampoline. Mere minutes from your ship, you’ll be provided with snorkeling gear and briefed on equipment and the rays. Your guide works with small groups to give you personal attention.

First, you’ll encounter the rays in a shallow area and get to feed them if you like. Then, you'll move to a larger area for snorkeling with a larger school of rays, nurse sharks, and all their colorful fish friends. Finally, you’ll have some beach club leisure time, complete with a snack bar, souvenirs and photos available to complete your experience.

Your guide will meet you at the Kayak Center to escort you to the staging area for an orientation and safety instruction. The protected waters of Port Frederick are yours to explore as you set off from the beach at Icy Strait Point in your two person wilderness sea kayak. Led by your safety certified, local guide, you'll paddle along the Hoonah waterfront enroute to quieter waters where bald eagles are often seen. Keep your eyes open and your spirit of adventure high throughout this 2 1/2 hour tour as humpback whales have been known to feed along the very same route you'll be paddling.

Challenge your senses and sense of reality in Xenses Park, a fantastic setting where up is down, right is left and nothing is as it appears.

After departing from the pier, you will settle in for a picturesque ride to the mainland and on to Xenses Park. You will then spend the next four hours or so exploring this highly unusual sensory park with all sorts of entertaining activities that are designed to challenge your perceptions and enhance your senses.

Starting at the welcome area, known as the Pinwheel, two different circuits are available. The Consensible Circuit will test your senses in areas such as The Way of the Dwarfs and Giants. Here, you feel small one second and then enormous a moment later. Enter the complete darkness of the Xensatorium and all of your senses but sight will sharpen. Then, there is the Xitric Garden, where you can drink lemonade straight from a faucet in a lemon tree.

The Inconsensible Circuit will play tricks on your sense of balance and reality. You might float down a super-salty river, soar through the air on a zip-line, and meander through a make-believe town where the laws of physics and logic don’t apply. Water will seem to defy gravity, and you may think you are ascending steps but are actually walking down them.

The experience will be extraordinarily fun, wildly amusing and mentally challenging. Afterwards, you will enjoy free time in Playa del Carmen to ease back into reality.

Enjoy a fun and exciting drive on your off-road safari jeep with wonderful views of Tortola and the surrounding islands from viewpoints that are not the typical tourist route. Your scenic drive around the island takes you through villages, on and off-roads and along coastal roadways.

Departing the cruise port, you will pass through Road Town before following a trail up to Ridge Road. There will be stops at various points for photo opportunities. Relax and unwind on Pearl Island, an idyllic tropical setting with plenty of amenities to ensure that your time is well spent. Explore the scenic beauty of Raiatea's sister island during this drift snorkeling and lagoon tour along the Taha'a coast.

Depart the pier aboard a covered motorized boat and navigate the lagoon and along the west coast of Taha'a, Raiatea's beautiful sister island. Put on your water shoes and follow your guide across an uninhabited islet, or motu, located just off the coast. After reaching the other side of the motu, you’ll start your drift snorkeling experience. Your guide will lead you while the current carries you through the shallow lagoon on the way back to the boat. There is no stopping along the way, but drift will be done 2 or 3 times if time allows. This particular area abounds with a spectacular variety of tropical fish and amazing coral. The unique richness of this coral garden will leave you with lasting memories of your visit. Enjoy refreshments before cruising back to the pier in Raiatea.

Experience the famous carriage roads of Acadia by bicycle and crisscross some of the most scenic areas of the park. The roads were constructed by John D. Rockefeller Jr. beginning in 1913; upset by a ruling allowing automobiles onto Mount Desert Island, he decided to provide a haven free of any motorized traffic. The roads recently underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment so they’re in excellent condition for cycling. You’ll be custom fitted with a 24-speed mountain or hybrid bike, designed specifically for hard packed gravel such as you’ll find on the carriage trails. Your professional guide will stop often to offer interpretive information about the island’s history and lore.

OVERVIEW

Cruise through the sheltered fjord off Qaqortoq in an open boat that allows for uninterrupted views of the glacial icebergs. In the Greenlandic language, Qaqortoq means “white,” a reference to the glaciers that terminate in the area. Even so, some of the icebergs will appear blue rather than white due to light refraction and other factors. As the boat skirts along the icebergs that have calved or broken off nearby glaciers, the skipper will describe their formation, approximate age and how the arctic ice sheet has receded over the past few decades. Icebergs can be dramatically sculptural. Their sizes vary from “growlers,” which rise only about three feet above sea level, to “bergy bits,” which are medium size, to massive behemoths. On this adventure, even your drink will be chilled with iceberg ice. Be sure to keep an eye out for whales as humpbacks and minkes are often spotted in the fjords.

Live the thrill of gliding through the top of a rich rain forest canopy along a series of eight zip-lines with three aerial bridges suspended between tall spruce, hemlock and cedar trees, bordering the magnificent Tongass National Forest. This major rain forest reserve embraces one of Alaska’s richest salmon spawning streams and a pristine intertidal estuary. Abundant wildlife habitat here includes a high concentration of bald eagles, black bears and a variety of other species. At Herring Cove, an all-terrain custom 4x4 Unimog will transport you up a steep rain forest hillside to the canopy chalet. Upon arrival, guides will instruct and outfit you with safety equipment in an open air forest pavilion. Your adventure begins as you ascend into the trees and gravity pulls you along the ziplines. Nestled on a platform in the park, keep an eye out for eagles and ocean views. You can take an optional challenge route that leads you across swinging logs and rope bridges. Feel the speed and acceleration of the ocean zip, where you'll land above the water on a freestanding platform. Then take the final zip to the take the UTV up the hill to the 50 foot climbing tower where guides will show you techniques to climb to the top and safely auto belay to the ground. For those that are less adventurous, guides can assist you in skipping elements if you choose. You’ll complete 6 ziplines, with time to shop for souvenirs before returning to the pier.

It won’t take long to reach the trailhead, yet the setting is still remote and teeming with wildlife. As you follow the challenging two-mile route, the only sounds will be those of nature until the guide pauses to comment on the indigenous flora and fauna. There will be plenty to discuss as the trail meanders through giant cedar, hemlock and spruce trees with an understory that includes a plethora of berry bushes. Although there is no telling what types of wildlife you may encounter, the three viewing platforms along the trail provide the best opportunities to observe black bears feasting on ripe berries. Follow an old logging road through the wilds of Tongass National Forest to a camp near Eureka Falls, where you can participate in all sorts of fun activities. Your group of no more than six hikers will take a scenic boat ride to Camp Coogan Bay, where you will have the option to stop at a Historic 1920’s era float house for rain gear, boots, and snacks. The woodlands adventure then begins in earnest as you will hike through dense forest, across a small stream and on to Eureka Falls and the Camp Coogan Bay Estuary. Eureka Falls is a beautiful cascade in America’s largest national forest and the Estuary offers views of eagles, wildlife, and salmon. Feel free to gather around the crackling fire at the campsite and cook hot dogs and make s’mores over the open flame. You could also pan for gold like the prospectors in the Gold Rush that began near Sitka in 1872. Be sure to keep an eye out for deer and bald eagles in the forest and for sea lions and otters while cruising.

Your boat will take you across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island where you’ll snorkel The Caves or The Indians. You are guaranteed to see beautiful corals and sponges, plentiful fish, and perhaps a turtle or ray will swim by and visit. After your snorkel, step ashore on to Norman Island. Snorkel on a smaller nearby reef, wander ashore and explore the beach or hunt for treasure. Cooper Island, Chromis Reef is another popular site and often more conducive to snorkeling when sea conditions are not ideal. Access to the sites is right off the boat and snorkel assistance is available for beginners.

Board your air-conditioned transportation at the dock for a 30-minute ride to Rockland Estate.

You will be guided to the plantation house, built in the 1700s, to learn the powerful story of Trace Wilson, born into slavery on the estate in 1818. The museum will also showcase the legacy of Emilio Wilson, her descendant who later purchased the property, and his generous contributions to the island that he loved; St. Maarten “The Friendly Island”.

After a brief orientation embark the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill; one of St. Maarten’s highest elevations at 1,115 feet. The experience encompasses two chairlifts as well as a series of platforms encircle the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree views of the island including vistas of neighboring islands Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts and Anguilla.

When you are ready to descend simply board the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the scenic trip down the mountain. Your kayak adventure along Juneau's coast begins with a short drive by bus to North Douglas Island, where you’ll enjoy scenic views of the Mendenhall Glacier. Here, your guide will hand out life jackets and rain gear before teaching you paddling techniques. Board the two-person kayaks, with your travel companion or assigned partner for your breathtaking trip, which will give you a sense of how Aleut Indians traveled the coastal waterways.

The stable yet nimble kayaks will allow you to silently approach any wildlife in the area, including porpoise, seals, sea lions, eagles, herons, or even whales. Explore the Mendenhall Wetlands and view the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. Your guide will entertain you with stories about Smugglers Cove and the history of the surrounding area. OVERVIEW

Follow a nature trail through Sitka National Historical Park that showcases totem poles just like the ones that were exhibited at the 1904 World’s Fair. Created in 1910 to commemorate the Battle of 1804 between the Tlingits and the Russians, the forested park is Alaska’s oldest and is rich in history. During this self-guided walk, you will learn about the many ecosystems in the surrounding rainforest and the unusual tale of how Alaska’s first governor gathered the original totem poles to promote the state. The indigenous Tlingit people carved and painted the totems, which feature stylized human, animal and supernatural forms that are highly symbolic. Some of the totems honor important people or events, such as the Bicentennial Pole of 1976, which was carved under the direction of the park’s first Native American superintendent. When crossing the bridge over Indian Creek, you will hear about the salmon that spawn there each summer.

Ride a bicycle around the beautiful West Bay district, stopping along the way at attractions that best characterize Grand Cayman. You will begin at Morgan’s Harbor and before long pedal down country lanes and through lovely residential neighborhoods. The winding route will become a bit more rugged as you approach Boatswain’s Bay, where phosphate mining once flourished. Other points of interest include the Cobalt Coast, which was named for the sea’s brilliant blue color, and Hell, an infernal-looking expanse of jagged black limestone that lies inland. You will also stop to sample a selection of cakes infused with locally distilled rum before traveling on to Seven Mile Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand on the island’s west coast. You might lie back in a lounge chair and bask in the sun, stroll along the lengthy shoreline and take a refreshing swim in the sea. You could also dine on your own.

After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a brief but scenic drive up the coast to Totem Bight State Historical Park, where you will become immersed in the culture of the Alaskan Natives of Southeast Alaska. Starting in the 1940s, the CCC constructed the park here in the rainforest to accurately present the customs and family life to visitors. As you wander through the park, you will see colorful, hand-carved totem poles and a large clan house similar to ones built in the early 19th century. Your guide will go into detail about the different styles of poles. After walking through the exhibit, you will depart for lake Harriet Hunt. Here, you will board a 37-foot canoe patterned after the ones that the Tlingit and Haida built. The lake provides a beautiful setting for your paddling adventure because the dense forest comes to the edge of the water. In time, you will disembark for an Alaskan-style snack. Then, you will have the opportunity to walk through an old-growth forest while your guide points out the most interesting flora and perhaps fauna. Afterwards, you will return to Ketchikan.

Begin your tour with a 40-minute scenic boat ride through historic Nassau Harbor to Blue Lagoon Island. Upon arrival you’ll attend a fun and interactive orientation covering the natural history of sea lions, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and wildlife guidelines. This educational and entertaining encounter is your chance to experience sea lions up-close. You’ll have the opportunity to hug, feed and play with these humorous marine mammals. Your interaction will take place from specially designed, waist-deep submerged platforms in a calm, private island lagoon with ten or less guests in your program. It will be a unique adventure, you’ll never forget! Upon completion of your dolphin swim, stay and enjoy the beautiful and always calm lagoon beach.

Cruise to Blue Lagoon Island on a sleek double-decker ferry for an up-close encounter with Atlantic bottlenose dolphins at an American Humane-certified facility. Upon arriving at the island, which is also known as Salt Cay, you will first learn about the characteristics and behavior of dolphins, such as how they communicate and use echolocation to hunt prey. Once in the water, you will stand on a waist-deep submerged platform that allows easy access to these highly intelligent marine mammals. A trainer will be on hand to recommend the best ways to interact with and touch the dolphins. You can expect an unforgettable experience as dolphins are naturally curious and social. During the two hours or so of beach time that follows, you might settle into a lounge chair and bask in the sun, take a refreshing swim, and snorkel in the turquoise sea. There are also shops in the Bahamian village nearby.

Paddle a two-person kayak across the calm waters of Connell Lake, a manmade reservoir that the Tongass National Forest surrounds. Following a briefing to help you maximize the experience, you will ease into a kayak and follow the guide around the lake. This beautiful body of water was created in 1952 by damming several creeks to feed millions of gallons of freshwater to the Ketchikan pulp mill. The 60-foot concrete dam still exists and continues to supply water to resources throughout the community. Today, Connell Lake is known more for its spectacular natural beauty, which you will see up-close as you paddle along the forested shore of America’s largest national park. Unusual flora and fauna abound, which the guide will describe as you paddle around the lake to several hidden wonders.

From the pier, you will be taken to the awaiting vehicle where you receive the safety equipment and participate in a brief orientation.

Hop on the all-terrain vehicle and follow your guide on caravan passing by the Cozumel’s coastline. On your way to the northern side, make a stop for photos at the iconic monument that was built to commemorate the encounter of cultures. Continue the fun while you drive on bumpy and narrow paths surrounded by local vegetation and make sure to keep your eyes open chances are you will find some wild life in the area as iguanas, raccoons and other creatures while exploring the northern side. Head on to a nice Beach Club where you will cool off at the swimming pool, sip a cold drink or just sink into a hammock or lounge chair. Once you have finished with the beach, you will board your vehicle and head back to the ship’s pier. (Snorkeling gear included).

Join this small group tour for a scenic two mile hike on the Chilkoot Trail, which winds through a lush rainforest and board a raft for a tranquil, scenic float back to historic Dyea. After a safety orientation, board a van and drive through Skagway to the backcountry deep in the heart of the Dyea Valley. You’ll travel to the historic town of Dyea to hike the first two scenic miles of the Chilkoot Trail, the centerpiece of gold rush history in Skagway.

Now a tranquil place of incredible beauty, the trail winds through a lush rainforest alive with birds, animals and wildflowers. Your route climbs and descends 350 feet over Saintly Hill. Along the way, your guide will share information about the natural history and Klondike folklore with you. Arrive at the banks of the Taiya River, where your 18-foot raft awaits for the scenic float back to Dyea. Drive through the winding and tough jungle trails to Jade cenote cavern. This jungle oasis was once a sacred site for the ancient Mayans. You will have a chance to swim in it’s refreshing waters. Hop back on your ATV for a drive to the Coral Caves, a series of natural formations carved over centuries, before returning to El Cedral for your transfer to Play Mia.

This famous beach destination is home to the largest bouncing floating park on the island. Beach lounge chairs, pools, 200- foot water slide, kayaks, and a whirl tub are part of the 20+ included non-motorized attractions. There is no better way to experience Alaska’s rugged terrain than by driving an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) through the forests and mountains on Chichagof Island. Following a short orientation on how best to operate an ATV in the Alaskan wilderness, you will set off on your outdoor adventure. The entire island (America’s fifth largest) lies within the limits of the 17-million-acre Tongass National Forest, which has the distinction of being America’s largest national forest. The terrain ranges from seaside estuaries to alpine mountain peaks, and you will have plenty of chances to stop and view the gorgeous scenery. With its remote location and limited accessibility, Chichagof is home to some of the animals most often associated with Alaska. In fact, the island has the world’s largest brown bear population, estimated to be three bears per square mile. You might also see bald eagles soaring above, land otters, Sitka black-tail deer and red squirrels.

Race through the wilderness on a utility task vehicle and then cruise along the gorgeous shoreline to a waterfront lodge for a hearty crab feast and beer pairing. After taking the wheel of the UTV, you will tear through mountainous terrain and along old logging roads at adrenaline-pumping speeds that will make this driving adventure all the more memorable. Upon reaching the coast, you will board 46-foot enclosed sightseeing vessel and cruise down an inland arm of the sea. The views will be spectacular, especially while passing the Mahoney Glacial Cirque, an amphitheater-like valley that ancient glaciers carved through the rugged landscape. Wildlife is abundant throughout this remote area, especially bald eagles. A sumptuous meal awaits you at George Inlet Lodge, a former 1940s bunkhouse for a fish cannery. It is a beautiful setting to dine on freshly caught Dungeness crabs paired with a number of unique craft beers from several local breweries.

After a safety briefing, you’ll head for the famed Lover’s Beach, past the sea lion colony and towering rock formations of Land’s End toward Santa Maria Cove. Anchor at a palm-studded tropical cove where the reefs are teeming with colorful tropical fish and you’ll have approximately 45 minutes to snorkel in the tranquil waters alongside the boat.

After your swim, you’ll be treated to your choice of soda, beer or a Mexican cocktail. An Open bar is available, after the snorkel portion of the tour. On the return trip, relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
