Caribbean Cruises: Excursions

Learn about, meet and interact with the most beloved mammal in the ocean - the bottlenose dolphin. Transfer to and from Blue Lagoon Island, home to 19 bottlenose dolphins, by boat from the pier (approximately 40 minutes each way). Upon arrival, meet the trainers for an educational briefing. This program takes place in approximately 20-foot-deep water, in small groups of no more than 10, so everyone has the opportunity to meet the dolphin while in the water and to ask questions. Highlights include a petting and feeding session with the dolphins, the popular high speed 'foot push' and optional professional photo and DVD/video opportunity. Note: Participants must be at least 6 years of age. Pregnant women are not allowed. Actual in-water encounter time is approximately 30 minutes. Children between the ages of 6 to 12 must be accompanied in the water by a paying guardian/parent. The paying guardian/parent must be book at the same time of the child participant; these booking cannot be made onboard as space is very limited. Lifejackets are required and provided on a complimentary basis; wet suits are available during cooler weather. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel from your ship. You must be able to walk about 1/2 to 1 mile on the pier. Guests must sign a waiver release form. less

Have a fun time at Atlantis. Wade into the waters of one of the world’s newest and largest dolphin habitats where you will touch, hug, and even kiss your new dolphin friends. Watch as they show off their playful side through some of their favorite behaviors. This intimate interaction begins with an orientation and includes 30-minutes in the water. Let the dolphins of Atlantis welcome you to join in the fun. Wet suits, personal lockers, beach towels, and non-alcoholic refreshments are provided. You’ll receive an Atlantis map, which will allow you to take a self-guided tour at your leisure of the Ruins Lagoon, a recreation of the sunken streets of mythical Atlantis and the Dig, a replica of an archaeological excavation site. Enjoy complimentary soft drinks while sunbathing at Dolphin’s Cay private beach. Note: Bring your swimsuit. Participants must be at least 2 years of age. For children under 10 years of age, a parent or appointed guardian must participate in the program. Wetsuits are mandatory. Children must be able to comprehend and follow instructions. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a considerable amount of walking once at the resort. This tour has access to Dolphin Cay private beach to sunbathe and watch the dolphins only; however swimming is not allowed. For the safety of everyone, observers must remain on the beach and are not permitted to enter the water. Dolphin Observer tickets are sold onboard only. This tour is non-refundable. The transportation for this tour is by bus, approximately 25-minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Guests participating on an Atlantis Shore Excursion must arrive at the place and time stated on the Shore Excursion ticket. Atlantis tour tickets will not be honored at the resort. There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Duration of tour may vary. Enjoy a short drive in air-conditioned comfort to the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls where you'll climb 600 feet of cool refreshing water as it cascades over natural limestone terraces. Guides are provided to assist you when ascending the rushing waters as it plunges directly into the pristine Caribbean Sea. After this invigorating experience, you'll be transported to Dolphin Cove, home to a beautiful family of bottlenose dolphins, exotic birds, snakes and iguanas. You'll be escorted to the Shark’s Cove where you'll be met by our highly trained shark encounter facilitators. Here you'll participate in a 15-minute safety briefing before facing your fears and interacting with the most fascinating and fearsome of all sea creatures, the shark! See Pirates of the Shark’s Cove and the rambunctious, hilarious Shark Show. Then the Shark’s 'Victim' (you) will get a chance to touch, hold, feed and explore while swimming in the same water as these creatures. After this exciting experience, enjoy a leisurely walk through the lush tropical jungle and get an up-close experience with our beautiful and friendly birds, snakes and iguanas. Browse through the largest gift shops of any attraction in Jamaica, stocked with the widest range of dolphin souvenirs; visit our jewelry store and craft market for locally handcrafted items. Shuttle buses are available at 10-minute intervals to return you to your ship or optional shopping at your convenience. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age. We recommend you wear your swimsuit under comfortable clothing, water shoes to climb the falls, and bring a change of clothes and a towel. Enjoy the natural beauty and undeniable magic of hidden Mexico in one of our single driver all-terrain vehicles. Your adventure begins when you are greeted by your bilingual guide and taken to your awaiting Kodiak transportation. After a short ride to the welcome station, receive a safety briefing and driving course. You'll then don your helmet and goggles and hop on your one person ATV and enjoy the driving experience. Follow your guide as you ride through the off road paths surrounded by tropical vegetation. Observe the natural beauty and feel the breeze on your face while driving over the coastline of Costa Maya. Visit a nice secluded beach where you’ll stop for a one hour break. Here is the end of your ATV ride experience and now it’s time to relax, take a swim in the ocean, admire the views or just lay down on the beach. As an optional activity you can snorkel while you explore the marine life and coral reefs; snorkel gear is included. You'll then be taken back to your ship’s pier on a Kodiak truck. Note: Participants must be at least 16 years of age and weigh no more than 350 lbs. Valid driver’s license required. One bottle of water and a light snack are included. One person per ATV. A helmet and goggles will be provided and must be worn. Closed-toe shoes are required. Long pants, a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and insect repellant are recommended. Due to safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with heart/respiratory conditions or back/neck injuries are not permitted on this excursion.
