Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel with a 53-year history of breaking boundaries, is celebrating the successful conclusion of its Walk for Wellness’ challenge, which ran from 6 – 31 October.

Promoting health and wellbeing within the travel community, NCL’s Walk for Wellness encouraged travel agents to utilise a free mobile phone app to get active. Via the app, travel partners tracked their steps while journeying around an interactive map of the world, reaching virtual destination milestones and completing fun challenges alongside their travel industry friends.

549 participants from Australia and New Zealand - including NCL team members and travel partners - completed an impressive 74,926 kms on their virtual journey across the globe, walking all the way from South America to Asia.

We are delighted with the overwhelming success of NCL’s Walk for Wellness, which saw the travel community band together to take part in an initiative that promoted mental and physical health and wellbeing, while also being a lot of fun for all involved. With a daily average of 18,731 kms, participants reached virtual milestones from around the globe including Rio de Janeiro, Belize, Lisbon, London and more. We saw strong engagement from participating travel partners, with the challenge forming a really tight-knit community and many messages of encouragement and support through the app.

12 mini challenges were held throughout the challenge, which included activities such as creating your own workout, participating in a sporting activity and snapping a photo on your walk with a travel agent friend. NCL gave away several prizes including fitbits, Lululemon gift cards, online yoga and fitness subscriptions, yoga mats, resistance band sets, Endota Spa gift cards and more, with all participants receiving a digital badge to celebrate their completion of the challenge.

On Friday 6 November, NCL announced the Walk for Wellness major prize winners via its AUNZ Partners First Facebook Group, congratulations go out to:

  • Naomi Hammond, Helloworld Travel Croydon Hills - the travel partner who contributed the most kilometres to the global challenge around the globe, winning an Apple Watch Series 6.
