Sip & Savor: A Wine Journey Through Split

OVERVIEW

Savor a selection of Croatian wines thoughtfully paired with local delicacies and learn about the products’ unique characteristics and attributes. A leisurely walk right from the pier will bring you to the venue for the wine tasting. Once you settle in, the sommelier will describe the various terroirs of the wines and their viticultures. The five or so wines that you sample will be chosen for their distinct qualities. They may include a ruby-red wine made with Plavac Mali grapes – a cousin of Zinfandel – and a full-bodied white made with Posip grapes, two of the primary grape varieties grown along the Dalmatian Coast. Some of the wines, especially the whites, may have a pleasant mineral quality as the soil in most vineyards tends to contain limestone. To complement the wines, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie items such as the local wood-smoked, air-dried prosciutto Drniš pršut will be served.
