Peace of MindFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Last Update: Febuary 9, 2021

How long will guests have to redeem their future cruise credit (FCC)?

Any guest whose reservation was cancelled under Peace of Mind from January 1, 2021 forward, will have one year from issue date to redeem their future cruise credit. Peace of Mind FCCs issued prior to December 31, 2020, must be redeemed by December 31, 2021. All Peace of Mind FCCs are valid for sailings departing on or before December 31, 2022.

How long will it take to receive my future cruise credit?

FCCs will be credited to the guests via their Latitudes number within seven working days. Communication will be sent to the travel partner and guest once the FCC is added.

Does this policy apply retroactively to previously cancelled bookings?

No. The policy does not apply to bookings cancelled prior to March 10, 2020.

What is the process for cancelling?

For those cancelling under the Peace of Mind policy, the FCC will be applied to the guests' profile in 7 working days. If the booking is outside final payment, refunds will work as usual. As always, for more assistance, please call Norwegian Cruise Line at +47 21 95 62 10 or your Travel Agent.

How long will the Peace of Mind policy be in effect?

Norwegian Cruise Line reserves the right to modify the policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated.

What happens if there is a difference in cruise fare between the future cruise credit (FCC) issued and the future booking?

If the cruise fare for the new booking exceeds the FCC's value, guests will be responsible for the difference. Alternatively, if the new cruise fare is lower than the FCC's value, a new FCC will be issued for the remaining balance.

What costs are included in the future cruise credit (FCC)?

The following will be applied to the FCC:

  • Cruise fare and taxes
    • Including any winning Upgrade Advantage payments.
  • Hotel and CruiseTour packages purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line.
  • Flight arrangements booked through Norwegian Cruise Line
  • Shore Excursions booked and pre-paid through Norwegian Cruise Line
  • Prepaid service charges
  • Beverage or Dining gratuities (if part of Free At Sea (FAS) Promotion selection)
  • Essentials, Booksafe Standard or Platinum Travel Protection, if purchased.
Booksafe Travel Protection will be issued as a separate additional FCC worth the value of the travel protection plan paid. This insurance FCC will be valid for one year from date of issuance and only applicable towards insurance for all published sailings through Dec 31, 2022.
Are any amounts on the affected bookings being refunded instead of being included in the FCC?

Any ancillary items sold by Norwegian Cruise Line will be refunded to the cardholder who made the original purchase (refunded to the original form of payment) and will not be included in the FCC. Ancillary pre-purchased items include:

  • Bon Voyage gifts and celebration packages
  • Dining or beverage packages (those not part of the Free at Sea (FAS) promotion)
  • Water and/or soda packages
  • Purchased on board credits
  • Internet packages
  • Photo packages
What happens to CruiseNext certificates that were used on a cancelled reservation?

CruiseNext certificates used will be returned to the guest account on file.

To what reservations does the Peace of Mind policy apply?

The new policy applies to both individual and group bookings. Charters are excluded.

Can the future cruise credit (FCC) be used as payment towards the same cancelled cruise if they decide at a later date to sail?

No. The cancellation window provides Peace of Mind allowing you to defer decisions to a later date and therefore the cancelled cruise may not be re-booked using the FCC.

What happens if a new reservation using the FCC is cancelled at a later point in time?

The original FCC amount will be returned to the guests' profile. If an affected booking has a previously applied FCC (as a result of a previous suspended sailing), the enhanced value future cruise credit will not be applicable. Bookings under this circumstance are not eligible for a cash refund and will receive the original value of the FCC back to the guests' profile.

Note: FCCs have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. If a guest opts to retain the FCC provided, the guest hereby agrees to all of NCL’s terms and conditions associated with the FCC, which can also be found on www.ncl.com/cruise-faq. Please be advised that at no time will an FCC be redeemable for cash, including but not limited to situations of possible future cruise suspensions, displacements, cancellations or if the FCC exceeds the time in which it must be used.

I won a bid on the Norwegian Upgrade Advantage. Am I guaranteed the same category on the new booking?

No, guests will receive the full value of their winning bid within the FCC and can apply that towards the sailing and category of their choice. Guests can then participate in a new bid once invited to the programme for the newly selected sailing.

What happens when one or more guests cancel, but other guests on the same booking choose to sail?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate an individual guest electing to cancel on a reservation. In an effort to take advantage of the Peace of Mind policy, the entire reservation must accept the FCC.

I am booked on a Sixthman cruise, which sails on Norwegian. Does Norwegian's Peace of Mind apply to me?

Policies for Sixthman full-ship charters may differ. Please contact Sixthman directly.
