Next, after receiving your safety briefing and signing your waiver, you will zip off into the desert in a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle that's ideal for negotiating the rugged landscape. Start by visiting the Cathedral, Machado Plaza which is considered to be the heart of the historic district as well as the Opera House and its museum. Next, stop at the Diver's site for an amazing cliff diver's show; continue driving north along the ocean front boulevard towards New Mazatlán. Here, enjoy the scenery and views of 'Puerto Viejo Bay', beaches and islands. Upon arrival to the Rhino's base camp in the Golden Zone, you'll have time for some shopping before returning to your ship.

OVERVIEW

Race through the wilds of the Guadalupe Valley in a Razor ATV, a 4-wheel-drive vehicle designed for adventure. After a briefing on how to safely operate the ATV, you will make a few practice runs to ensure that you maximize the experience. Then, off you will go into the valley. You can drive or simply ride along if you feel more comfortable as a passenger. Either way, it will be exhilarating as the ATV is open on the sides for unobstructed views. You will drive off-road and along dirt trails, following the guide caravan-style. If it has been raining, the ride will be even more fun as mud will be flying in every direction. Stops will be made along the way to admire the hauntingly beautiful scenery. Back at base camp, you can enjoy a glass of wine, a fitting way to toast the adventure as the Guadalupe Valley is wine country.

Either way, it will be a nonstop thrill as you zip down the dirt trails that crisscross the rainforest that blankets the Sierra Madre Occidental, a volcanically formed mountain range. At one point, you will cross the world's longest vehicular suspension bridge with nothing below but dense jungle and the winding Cuale River. Feel free to pause for photos of the extraordinary natural beauty. Once you catch your breath and return to the base camp, you can relive your ATV adventure while taking part in a tasting of local tequilas.

Your boat will take you across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island where you'll snorkel The Caves or The Indians. You are guaranteed to see beautiful corals and sponges, plentiful fish, and perhaps a turtle or ray will swim by and visit. After your snorkel, step ashore on to Norman Island. Snorkel on a smaller nearby reef, wander ashore and explore the beach or hunt for treasure. Cooper Island, Chromis Reef is another popular site and often more conducive to snorkeling when sea conditions are not ideal. Access to the sites is right off the boat and snorkel assistance is available for beginners.
