Are the pools heated on the Joy? Specifically the water slides? We are going to Alaska in May and want to know if they will be in use?

Asked by: chrissyandben
The pools usually are heated to a temperature in the 70s or 80s. I'm not sure if the water in the slides is heated.

Bliss

Is the pool heated?
Asked by: JustAmy
Yes, the pools can be heated. When the weather is cool the pools usually are heated to a temperature in the 70s or 80s. Keep in mind, though, that the pool deck area may still be quite cold if you are sailing in Alaska during the Spring or Autumn months.

On the Alaska cruises, will we have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights?

Asked by: crista
It is not likely that you will be able to see the aurora borealis during your cruise. The lights are most visible during the winter months, while NCL cruises to Alaska take place in the late Spring to early Autumn.

Do the cabin tv's have dvd players?

Asked by: needlenana
There are DVD players in Suite and Haven staterooms, but not in other rooms. Unfortunately, there are no auxiliary input jacks that would allow you to connect your own device to the TV.

When is the best time to book a cruise to Alaska for whale watching?

You can see whales in Alaska from May through September. Some species are more prevalent in May and June, others in July, while others are frequently seen in August and September. An internet search for "whale migration Alaska dates" will lead you to several websites with excellent information.
